It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

This is another example, how the Indian film producer S.Thanu is raising the expectations for a movie way too high, without thinking about the quality of the movie. With all due respect, making marketing like this has nothing to do with talent. The movie Kabali is easily the best movie of Superstar Rajini since Enthiran. It's totally a movie you should watch for the plot and the whole cast and not only for Rajini. What was good? First of all, the best thing about this movie is the godlike background score by Santhosh Narayanan, which is one of the best in Tamil cinema history in my opinion. It's not only good sounding, but on top of that it is played very wisely. This guy really is some kind of Hans Zimmer of India. Then the character development of most of the characters were great, especially Jeeva, which was performed extra-ordinary by Dinesh. I totally love that Rajini was playing a role, which was fitting to him. And all in all the first half of the movie was great in every aspect. Story-Telling at it's finest by Pa.Ranjith. One could totally relate to the tension of Kabali. The last sequence was a master-piece.What didn't feel right for me? Evan if the story is great, Pa.Ranjith still put in some forced Rajini moves. This movie didn't need that. Sometimes it killed the atmosphere of the movie. Although the characters were great, the movie didn't use the full potential of the characters. Especially the potential of Jeeva and Meena was wasted. While the first half was great, the second half was disappointing. It was too slow-paced and it was dragging. If you've seen the movie, you know what I mean. What disappointed me as well was the Kumaran character. Kalaiyarasan wasn't really the right choice for this character and the character development of this character wasn't complete as well. So, don't watch the movie with the thought of watching a bad movie. But don't watch it with too high expectations as well.

Movie: Kabali (U)Rating: 4.5/5So finally after a lot of struggles, I got to watch KABALI in Hindi. It really doesn't give the feel of a dubbed film. It's made very well with all titles in Hindi giving a feel of an original Hindi film. The title KABALI itself is very interesting. This is after a long time you get to see Rajinikanth in a different and offbeat film plus role. It's not fully his regular stuff, but is filled with enough masala of his kind to entertain one and all, and of course, the fans. The most talked about film of the year, KABALI has everything going in favour of it. Good acting, visuals, action, cinematography, music, story and screenplay and what not. Everything is perfect in this film. It's a clean family entertainer too. Rajinikanth is nothing short of a superhero in KABALI. His performance is top notch. Dinesh, Dhansika, Radhika Apte etc all are first rate when it comes to their acts. Other actors also impress. The music is good and doesn't look like dubbed. The cinematography and locations are just so excellent that they can't be described in words. The action is a major highlight of the film and is excellent. The story is also good and direction by Pa Ranjith impresses big time.Overall, KABALI is a different Rajini film but has loads of entertainment. Don't miss this Superhero (KABALI is a new addition to Indian superheroes) flick! A must watch!

PA.Ranjith who impressed with his previous two films got a chance of his life time to direct Super Star Rajinikanth. He created tremendous interest with the first look, teaser and trailer. Expectations soared but PA.Ranjith failed to live up to the expectations. 'Kabali' dragged from the start to finish and never goes full throttle to show the power on silver screen. He huffs and puffs and though there are few scenes where Kabali shows his power, overall he failed to have a powerful takeoff. Film has only one interesting twist and that too a predictable one at the end of the first half. While first half drags listlessly from 'Kabli' seeking revenge on mafia, reforming young members of the mafia gangs and finding out his wife presumably dead, second half turns out to be a torture with sentiment scenes. The climax shocks all as it turns out to be one of the weakest with no conclusive ending.Film lacks commercial elements and there is no humour and romance in the film.Viewers get to see Kabali power only in couple of scenes as Ranjith failed to elevate the conflicts between Rajini and Winston Chao the villain in a more powerful manner. Only Rajinikanth's star power and screen presence to some extent saved the film where Ranjith failed with his story, screen-play and direction. He must have been dumb stuck when he got the call from Rajinikanth. with reference by myfirstshow

Rajini is the only thing worth watching from the beginning till the end. There is absolute nothing in the movie no songs, no comedy, no fight, no glamour, no romance.. but Rajni did justice to himself and his fans very good acting with amazing salt pepper look and his style was brilliant.I have voted with 3 because -1. for the attractive poster 2. impressive teaser 3. Raijni's acting and style 4. (and a minus one for too much hype). If u have any plan to watch the movie in a theater then do carry an aspirin because you might end up getting a serious headache at the end.. over all its a disappointing movie.
