In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

I always like the 80s films, because that's the time the teen films were revolutionised. I did not know this film's existence, also not knew 'She's the Man' was its remake. Very enjoyable comedy flick. It was not a flawless film, but they were minimised. This is the story of Terry, a senior high school girl who after failed to get her desired summer job at a local press, she decides to reapply for the internship disguised as a boy with the help of her little brother. The rest follows what she's going to achieve from her new getup.I really don't know any of these actors, but I liked them all, especially the lead actress. As I have seen many similar films, I don't think it failed to get my attention. So 80s, I mean very impressive like usual with slow and steady narration. You should not compare it to the present teen films. It was not just a different era film, but smartly highlighted the trend among the high school kids of the 80s. Particularly like the relationship and sexually perspectives, though not that strong contents.I don't think everybody would like it, especially the todays youngsters, but surely the 80s and the 90s guys would enjoy it. I was not even born when it came out, though I feel my generation was very close to it than the present. If you have not seen many films like this theme, you should try it, but watch out for the slow story progression. That's the only thing that might disappoint the viewers, but if you are okay with that, then it is a better film than you would have anticipated.7/10

"Terry Griffith" (Joyse Hyser) is a popular senior in high school who wants very much to be a journalist for a newspaper after she graduates. Unfortunately, when her paper for a local newspaper journalism prize is rejected, and she is slighted because she is essentially too attractive, she decides to secretly enroll in a rival high school and compete for the journalism contest there--as a guy. But what she doesn't count on is the unexpected turmoil her decision creates by leading two totally different lives. Now rather than reveal any more of this movie and risk spoiling it for those who haven't seen it I will just say that this film was simply hilarious. Along with that it doesn't take much to see that both Joyse Hyser and Bill Jayne (as her younger brother "Buddy Griffith") were clearly having a good time playing their parts which made the movie even more enjoyable. Likewise the performance of William Zabka (as the high school bully named "Greg Tolan") and the addition of such attractive actresses like Toni Hudson ("Denise"), Sherilynn Fenn ("Sandy") along with the aforementioned Joyse Hyser certainly didn't hurt either. In short, this is a good example of 80's comedy and I recommend it to all those who might be interested in something of this nature. Above average.

Tootsie was very funny in it's time. But this that is sort of like Tootsie in reverse, was not as funny. And listening to some of the jokes make me wonder why was this movie not rated R, I mean some of the jokes make the American Pie movies seem Nc-17. It was not all that funny, through most of the movie, I laughed for putting in the effort for trying. The story begins with Terry(Joyce Hauser) is very upset when she does not win a Journalist contest. Feels she is not taking seriously because she is a pretty female. And is pretty annoyed that her brother Buddy(Billy Jacoby--William Jayne now) has pined up several naked women in his room. So she pretends to be a guy, and changes schools, in hopes to get some respect. During that time she befriends Rick Morehouse(Clayton Rohner, you remember him from G vs E), keeps getting crossing unpleasant paths with the School Bully(The Karate Kids, William Zabka), and his pursued by Sandy(Then unknown Sherilyn Finn). It was not totally bad, Billy Jacoby seems to steal most of the movie has Terrys sex crazed brother. It was an alright 80's flick, but not a classic.

Just One Of The Guys in my book is a very funny movie,it has some of the qualities of Tootsie and Yentl in it.The cast is awesome. The movie starts out with Terry Griffith(Joyce Hyser)wanting to win a Journalism competition, but doesn't win,she thought that her Journalism teacher Mr. Raymaker(Kenneth Tigar)did'nt take her seriously, she is depressed, more depressing is that her boyfriend Kevin(Leigh McCloskey)does not support her,but her friend Denise(Toni Hudson of Prime Risk)tries to cheer her up some. Her horny brother Buddy(Billy Jacoby)does give her a little hard time, she gets the idea of posing as a boy,so she goes to another school as a boy thinking she can turn in the same article to win a Journalism competition, but does not do it either, she learns more as the time goes by,she meets a nice man Rick Morehouse(Clayton Rohner of Modern Girls and G vs E),she helps him from looking like a nerd to looking like a stud. The school bully Greg Tolan(William Zabka,Johnny Lawrence of The Karate Kid and Chas in Back To School)gives people their a hard time, but they get even with him in the cafeteria.Sandy(Sherilyn Fenn of Twin Peaks and The Wraith)has the hots for Terry,a girl who is attracted to Terry. The prom is when everything comes out in the open,Terry is falling for Rick, the fight between Rick and Greg is awesome,Rick teaches Greg ,no pain,no gain as Greg quotes some earlier in the movie.Rick is upset to find out that Terry deceived him about being a guy,and he walks away,Terry has learned a lot about earning your way through life because of Mr. Raymaker. She later on meets up with Buddy who is happy that he has a sex life now, then Terry sees Rick by her car, they talk, realizing they still care for each other and want to go out together. This movie has lots of great moments in it.The supporting cast are great too.Arye Gross(House II:The Second Story and Hexed) as Willie, one of the nerdy guys who think they are Martians and Stuart Charno(Christine) as Harold "Reptile" Sherbico, who brings his pets to school.I give this movie 2 thumbs up, and 10/10 stars.
