It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

"Jay and Silent Bob Go Down Under" (2012) is live "stand-up comedy" (they are sitting) show, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes did within "Jay and Silent Bob Get Old" series. This time they went "down under" in Australia and did one hour show in front of a sell out audience in Sydney. I'm huge fan of these guys, but I must admit that series title suits the show - their humor is getting old. It's not bad, but I wouldn't pay money to see it.6/10

"Jay and Silent Bob Go Down Under" is mostly for Smith/Mewes fans as we see them chit chatting on stage in Sidney, Australia. No references to their previous movies whatsoever and just funny (depending if you like Jason style or not) stories about Jason (sex) adventures in Australia. The only interesting bit was when Kevin revealed the true nature of why they are doing these tours, which is basically to help Jason stay clean of his drug addiction. This is always a subject worth expanding further. All in all, if you like Kevin and Jason you are going to mildly enjoy this one, but in the end you need to consider that this appeal to how much you like them rather than offer any content that is worth it beyond that.

Filmmaker and comedian Kevin Smith returns to EPIX with an all new special, taped in front of a sell out audience in Sydney...How to rate these videos? As a Smith fan, I instinctively want to rate them higher because I laugh. But yet, it seems that each time one comes out, the brand gets more and more diminished. Smith's movie career has gone downward since "Chasing Amy" (with the exception of "Red State"), and these specials have followed suit. The "Evening with Kevin Smith" DVDs (at least the first two) were great, because it was a compilation of some of his best touring material, and we heard some great behind-the-scenes Hollywood stories about how movies are made and the strange decisions the studio executives make. Now we are left with Jason Mewes telling bizarre sexual encounter stories. I am not sure how much they have left before they have completely run out of material.I like that the show is called "Jay and Silent Bob Get Old", because it is a great double entendre: not only are they aging, but their show is growing old, too, and maybe not in the best way. (And yet I keep watching...)
