Good start, but then it gets ruined
... View MoreAll of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
... View MoreOne of those movie experiences that is so good it makes you realize you've been grading everything else on a curve.
... View MoreThe storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
... View MoreThis short, which is included as an extra on the DVD of director Eric Valette's bizarre horror Maléfique, is a darkly comical and rather grisly tale that proves there's more to being a serial killer than just having a few screws loose.Jean-Paul Rouve plays Jean, a nobody who hopes to achieve fame and notoriety by becoming France's most prolific serial killer. After studying the 'greats' (Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, Henry Lee Lucas), carefully choosing his killing attire, selecting his weapon, and inventing a cool pseudonym (he calls himself Zephyr), he attempts to claim his first victims, but things don't go as smoothly as planned. In a hilarious turn of events, Jean fails to subdue his targets, accidentally chops off his own fingers, gets smashed over the head with a vase, and is arrested as he tries to escape the scene of his unsuccessful crime. Sentenced to 10 years in prison, he vows to do better next time around. If you have a copy of Maléfique on DVD, I strongly suggest giving this amusing and well made short a few minutes of your time: I enjoyed it even more than the feature length movie it accompanies.
... View MoreA 15-minute short in which the main character reflects upon serial killers and those amongst them that he admires and aspires to be like. He plots his first kill seeming more enamoured by the notoriety and infamy serial killing will bring rather than having any thirst for murder itself.Unsurprisingly his first killing does not go according to plan ...The film has only 3 characters as such and the viewer spends their time inside the main character's head and his narrative.A funny and witty film to be found as an extra on the Malefique DVD. The film is well put together and acted and was better overall than Malefique.
... View MorePossibly the funniest short I've seen. This short concerns an aspiring serial killer who bears more resemblance to Inspector Clouseau than Jeffrey Dahmer, and really should have stuck to his day job. Gory but hilarious. A must-see if you can find it. High production values.
