a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

Oddly the worst thing about this movie wasn't Usher's acting. It might have been that this entire film is one giant ego trip on the self adoration train and sadly their are many many stops. We are forced to watch as Ushers character Daryll is painfully irresistible to the opposite sex and the movie piece by broken piece dismantles Dolly's seemingly strong relationship with her fiancé Chad and then carefully constructs a new relationship with Usher. At no point did I think of the main character as anyone but Usher. He played himself in a world were he lives out his Italian crime sex fantasy. This film is 911 disaster porno bad. 95 minutes of vanity peppered with the most annoying character in the history of cinema, Frankie Junior. I begged for mercy every time he made any kind of contribution to the story. Strangely Kevin Hart was good. A shining beacon in a sea of feces.

After watching In the Mix, I can safely say there's no way this belongs on a list of the bottom 100 movies. Sure, the plot is lame, and Dolly spends the first half of the movie being incredibly naive about the danger she is in, and I was able to guess the movie's bad guy after his very first line of dialogue, but it's not that bad. For those of you who are giving this one star and saying it's the worst movie you have ever seen, try watching some of the other bottom 100 films (particularly try ones that don't contain a non-actor celebrity trying to break in to acting) and you'll see what a bottom 100 movie really is.I'm not a fan of romantic comedies but the odd mix of romantic comedy and crime drama makes the film more bearable. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this is a good movie, but it's certainly not as bad as everyone seems to think it is.

I don't hate Usher, but I am not a fan of his either, and I did decide to see In the Mix regardless of whether he had acting or lack thereof despite the negative reviews and low IMDb rating. What can I say? Not trying to sound opinionated but this film was awful.First of all, the acting- it was non-existent. Usher has the charisma and the charm I suppose, but he completely forgets his acting skills literally sleepwalking through his role. Usher is not the only bad thing about In the Mix though, everything is bad. The other acting is nothing to write home about, in fact the only good performance comes from Chazz Palminteri and he deserved better than this. The cinematography and such are not good, looking amateurish and as though the film thinks it is a music video. The soundtrack is pretty forgettable as well, I didn't find myself humming a tune or anything as I finished watching the film. Not only that, the story is badly written, with one too many predictable and unrealistic scenarios, the pacing is all over the map and the direction is just as incompetent as the acting. The worst part was the script, which was well and truly abominable. I honestly do not know what the screenwriter was thinking writing this script; there are several bad screenplays but this one does take the biscuit don't you think? And then to add insult to injury, the film is riddled with stereotypes and some of them are really quite unsubtle. In conclusion, awful film and sorry I don't recommend it whatsoever. Go and see it if you like but while not quite the worst movie ever made it is a poor film on pretty much every level and I'll be honest it actually made me somewhat angry. 1/10 Bethany Cox

This is Usher's breakout performance in what was 2005's best film and Hollywoods best film ever created in the City of Angels. I must say I walked into this thinking it was going to be stupid, lame, and dull, however, I walked out of the theater with my jaw dropped and said "This film is a MASTERPIECE!" I immediately bought tickets of the next day (all five showings they had) and sadly I was the only person in the audience, but I am the only one I suppose in my respected area that appreciates fine cinema. Usher was robbed of an academy award nomination for his breathtaking role as a bodyguard who learns to love this girl he is protecting. Shes more than just a mafia princess, shes glamorous and with usher by her side, it feels like I'm watching James Dean and Natatlie Wood in "Rebel without a Cause" all over again! Kudos to the directing as it should'vie gotten a DGA nod for its poetic movement. This film moved me. I went out and bought the soundtrack, and the t-shirt and joined the online "In the Mix" fan club. Two thumbs up can't do this film half the justice it deserves. I think it would take everyones thumb in India to be up to do this film justice on just how wonderful it truly was. I have seen this film over 90 times in the theaters and immediately bought it when it came out on DVD. I watched it every night before I go to bed. Wow...I cannot explain how truly great this film is. It was as if God touched the Hollywood corp. in some ways saying "This is the new Citizen Kane". This film should be remembered in years to come and will probably by my guess be studied in film schools all around the United States. I'm all for it. If there was a film school that would teach it, I would go either way because no one knows more about this film...I'm sorry, I mean MASTERPIECE than I do. I must say "Crash" "Brokeback Mountain" "Munich" "Capote" and "Good Night, and Good Luck" were fantastic films, but they don't even come near "In the Mix". It's not touchable. Even Orson Welles would be bowing down to this masterpiece, thats how great of a film this truly is. I'm starting a petition trying to get as many signatures as possible to sign for putting "In the Mix" back in the theaters. So far I'vie got one....I don't understand why people are hating this movie so much, I think its quite possibly the best film ever made. Hopefully people will come around and see that Usher is the new Marlon Brando, or James Dean, or Johnny Depp...Hey, Depp ain't got nothing on Usher! Masterpiece!
