It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

This movie is one of my favorites because it has a soul. The characters are incredibly well chosen and their approachable and and loving nature just makes you their friend. The settings are just amazing. Alterating between China and Germany, showing two different life-styles. The story includes people we meet every day and the mix of two cultures adds extra flavor to this one of a kind German master piece. The title might be a little ill chosen because APPLE and iphones do not play a major role in this film. But the cell phone and its technology show once again that the world has come together and that although we live on two different continents everyone is just a click or a phone call away. Thiis movie can be compared to Same Same but Different, which also treats the topic of cultural exchange and love without borders.
