In another indictment of the flaws of our so-called civilization, this satire from the late director Marco Ferreri features Christopher Lambert as Michel, a miserable man who has failed at love and finds solace in a mechanical key holder.

Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

Christopher Lambert is good as always in this ponderous "rara avis", wherein he finds, by mere chance, a keychain bauble forged in the likeness of a woman's face. By and by, Lambert comes to find that this mysterious little doohickey responds to the sound of a whistle by whispering in a sultry voice, "I love you". Lambert, rather selfish and understandably lonely in his bachelorhood, begins to harbor obsessive feelings for this object, feelings which ultimately become destructive to his personal growth. A very odd premise, indeed. Somehow, though, it manages to remain quite engaging clear through to it's insane and entirely unexpected resolve. I'd rate this a solid 6 out of 10, but I could only possibly recommend it without hesitation to monomaniacs of European art cinema...I think it's safe to say that the casual viewer will merely draw a blank with something like this.

Christopher Lambert's life seems a bit empty. His job with a travel agency in a mall and a succession of meaningless sexual trysts are unsatisfying and quite boring. In search of a thrill he even begins driving his motorcycle with wild abandon. Nothing seems to help until...Until Christopher finds the one thing that every man needs: complete and utter devotion and acceptance from a woman who will never speak any words that are unwelcome. It's a silly plot for a funny, offbeat movie, the kind you should watch with a lover for the most enjoyment. If you see it alone, it will just seem stupid, but with your girlfriend or boyfriend you'll have a great time with it.

I think i am the first person who adds a comment for this movie. I have seen this movie last year at night and i dont really remember the story. Its not a that intresting movie and it has the taste of an art movie. And i guess its not an american movie. So the story was not absurd nor unrealistic. I just remember that Christopher Lambert found a small key chain which has a small women head attached to it. Its one of those key chains which make a sound when you whistle. He whistles and the key chain says i love you. He likes that key chain and whistles again and again during the movie. Its nice to watch this movie at night cause it is boring and makes you sleepy in a GOOD way. Watch it. Pretty unusal movie. *whistles* I LOVE YOU!!!
