Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

... View MoreValendictorian Dennis Cooverman (Paul Rust) gives the craziest of all graduation speech. First he proclaims "I love you, Beth Cooper". Beth (Hayden Panettiere) is the hot popular cheerleader. That's before his speech makes enemies. He even declares that his best friend Rich Munsch (Jack Carpenter) is gay. He invites her to his graduation party. It's only him and Rich but then surprisingly, Beth shows up with her girlfriends Cammy (Lauren London) and Treece (Lauren Storm). This movie really struggles with Paul Rust as the lead. He's a geeky looking guy but not nearly adorable enough. He's quirky but not that funny. The character really demands to be played by a faux-geek rather a real nerd like Rust. Hayden Panettiere's character is not somebody on a pedestal. She's a little bit complicated and that's a good thing. The problem is that she's not the lead. Rust is the lead and he can't carry the movie.
... View Moreearlier i said Catwoman is the worst movie ever, well i only saw internet reviews, and i take it back THIS is the worst movie I've ever SEEN.i didn't see this movie in theaters, i forgot it pretty quickly, my parents rented it from the library for me, since we were fans of heroes, i like Hayden Panettiere, me and my brother watched it in my room, a half hour later, my parents asked me why i didn't finish, i just had no words i could say nothing, i am glad they took it back to the library and it's not seen at my library anymore what happened? why would Hayden Panettiere and director Chris Columbus of Home Alone, Harry Potter (and the movie Percy Jackson he directed one year later had something better to offer) agree to this i don't know is this is supposed to be a parody of teen films or what? but i don't care i cant put it into words, this is the ugliest repulsive worst movie I've ever seen.i am of the few people who hated American Pie, for how unlikable the characters were, and not funny the gross out humor was, even American Pie had some believability, and one funny character.the "nerdy" guy were supposed to identify with is a douche from the very beginning and is nonredeemable even by the end, the "hot boyfriend" and the "hot girl" are both psychos, the gay friend who quotes movies (i take offense to this character) is just unrealistically horrible, everyone is unrealistic i just cant put it into words, i barely got through half of this movie, i was just so repulsed at this disgusting horrible image at what someone thinks teen comedies are supposed to be like.
... View MoreToo stupid to be funny or serious is probably the best way to describe this movie. Low, clichéd and highly overused humor combined with some childish drama is just not working anymore. It never did, actually! I constantly felt like the movie was trying to be something like Dazed & Confused when it was actually very, very, very far away from being anything like it. I Love You, Beth Cooper is about a guy who uses his graduation speech to finally declare his love to his long time crush. And his entire school and some other people. Now, if any of you people who are about to graduate is thinking of doing something like this, i got one word for you, don't!!!! Not only will you be embarrassed, but also the girl or the guy you like/love and probably everyone else in the audience just by listening to you making an idiot out of your self. The movie is constantly switching tones from being 'funny?' to being overly dramatic and even philosophical. Needles to say that none of those thing's work in this movie. I haven't read the book, but if it's true that this adaptation is actually faithful to the original material than i'm not planning to either. While Hayden Panettiere somehow manages to stay nonirritating and even showcases some talent, the guy who played the leading guy (Paul Rust) is definitely a miscast not only for this movie, but any other too. He is just as irritating as a person can get! That's probably why no one knows what happened to his character in Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds! I won't say a lot about the supporting characters because none of them, not even the leading ones, are actually characters. They're all more like names used to fill the void. Actually, the only role i liked in the entire movie was Denis' father who was obviously a copy of Jim's father in American Pie (played by Euegen Levy). I guess movie borrows a bit from everything, but fails horribly at putting it all together.I'm not sure if there was at least one scene in this entire movie that made me laugh. But even if there was, it surely wasn't funny enough to remember it, anyway. They tried a lot of thing's with this film. Drama, comedy, adventure.... But, unfortunately for whoever made this movie and for whoever's seen it, not everyone is Richard Linklater and this movie is for sure not even close to being anything like Dazed & Confused, which is what it tried to be. Unfunny, unoriginal, and so on............... Not good!
... View More**May contain spoilers* I was shocked to watch this film and see for myself just how awful it really is. All attempts at humor flop. I was off-put by a number of things. The girls that are Beth's friends- I couldn't figure them out. Nothing there? The boy that is the male lead's friend- why make such a big deal over his sexuality? That gets in the way of the main storyline. Rather than it being an incredibly fun or funny night, it's painful to watch this trainwreck. Normally I like Hayden, but this film is not normal...it's undefinable. I didn't buy him seeing the real girl beneath the Beth Cooper popular girl facade. How can he "know" her like that? Feigned depth where there is none-only surface knowing. I guess I mean to say the preview itself was better than watching the movie itself.
