Redundant and unnecessary.
... View MoreI like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
... View MoreThere's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
... View MoreIt’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
... View MoreIf you want to laugh and just relax this is the movie for you, its a chick flick but a good one. Michelle is a good actress and Paul Rudd too. They are a nice couple together. I really like the music they play during the movie, some Alanis Morrissette and Greenday. It's interesting the way they present the subject of age difference and the pressure of the movie/ television of actors about being young forever. Aging is natural and everybody aged. The relationship between the daughter and the mother is a funny one, they always laugh together and support each other no matter what happens. In real life, its not always like that but movies exist to entertain us and distract us from our everyday life.
... View MoreI always say "warning spoiler," but I try not to spoil.... This is one of my new favorite Romantic Comedies. I just love it. The name doesn't give a clue to the movie itself..I mean, I understand it...but it is such a good movie, you'd never know by the title. One of my fav. things is the dance scene. I won't give hints or who or what, but it is SO cute. I wasn't a big Paul Rudd fan before this movie, but LOVE him now. What a grin. And, some of the things the mom and daughter said to each other, remind me of me and my girl. Yes, single mom here with a teenager, who is much more mature than me. Course, I look NOTHING like M.P., but hey, what the heck. Kick back, have a laugh and enjoy this movie. Witty and different outlook. One thing I also loved, was the supportive stance on making young women feel worthy, even if they aren't "stick figgered." hahah "Isn't it moronic....don't you think?" hahah
... View MoreMichelle Pfieffer plays, Rosie, a writer on a hip teen show called You Go Girl. She's the Hollywood cougar. Her pray is aspiring actor, Adam, whom she hires to play a guest spot on the show. He's also about 15 years younger than her. At first, she's not keen on going out with him, but decides she can try to get past the age issue. She's also raising a teen daughter, whom has her own boy problems. Rosie's secretary, Jeannie, decides to mess with her situation and tries to make Rosie think Adam is seeing Brianna, star of You Go Girl, behind her back. Soon her lies are discovered and Rosie and Adam have a happy ending.FINAL VERDICT: I didn't think it was funny. I thought it was very average and I can see why it wasn't in theaters. Plus Michelle Pfieffer's face, particular her chin, looks really weird. She may have had some of that bad plastic surgery they make fun of in the beginning of the film. I don't recommend this one.
... View MoreDon't waste your time with this dud! With Michelle Pfeiffer and Jon Lovitz as perhaps the most childish, inane parents on screen since "The Brady Bunch". Michelle Pfeiffer's character is thoroughly unlikeable and Paul Rudd's character is a complete idiot!!!! The only character with any redeemable qualities is Izzy, as played by the radiant Saoirse Ronan, and even her precociousness grates after a while. There seems to be a trend lately of portraying the leads in any rom-com as either a bitch, or an idiot, as if Hollywood thinks that these are only types of women who would pull a man, which is a bad, bad message. Michelle Pfeiffer portrays a kidult who tries to be a 'friend' to her daughter, playing Barbies and jumping on beds and indulging in food fights. She also dresses like a fourteen year old. What gives???? Amy Heckerling has produced some good movies, but THIS is NOT one of them!
