... View MoreDo you want to forget your worries for 2 1/2 hours? Do you wish to escape to a fantasy land full of entertainment? Do you want to laugh after every two minutes for two hours? If your answer is yes to all of the above, and you relish Manmohan Desai type movies, Housefull 2 is your cup of tea. Forget pretensions of a pregnant wife seeking revenge against an armed terrorist (the implausible Kahaani) or selling boredom by copying a classic (Shanghai). Sajid Khan's latest offering does not even venture remotely to this territory. The basic plot is known to all by now, I guess. A son (Shreyas) seeks revenge against his father's humiliation in the hands of a tycoon (Rishi Kapooor) due to a misunderstanding caused by a bumbling marriage bureau honcho (Chunkey) in London. He seeks the help of his friends Jolly (Riteish), Max (John) and Sunny (Akshay) with hilarious consequences. I will not spoil the fun by divulging anything more to you. Despite some corny lines and one or two cheap scenes thrown in here and there, Sajid's "Housefull 2" is about a clean comedy overall. His trump card is Akshay Kumar. My god, I have no words to describe this man's performance. He is the best of the best. John does great and I believe he comes to his best with Akshay around. Riteish is splendid. Shreyas does well too. Of the veterans, Rishi and Mithun scores best followed by Randhir and Boman. Asin is the best among the lot although Zarine is the topmost in terms of looks among the ladies. A fantastic movie with no strings attached, Housefull 2 is a loud, funny comedy. Waiting for Housefull 3 with bated breath.
... View MoreThe filthy frontbenchers are rejoicing and the maggot journalists are giving a five star rating since this movie is right up their alley. Give a diamond to a monkey it wouldn't know what to do with it. This is the case of giving money to bunch of no talent nerds who have no clue about making a movie. It tales a genuine no talent to come up with a movie like this. Only thing they are well versed are fart jokes and toilet humor like the 'Delhi Belly" and "Three Idiots" starring the same brain dead actors like Sajjid Khan, Johnny Lever, Shriyas Talpade, John Abraham etc. and assorted idiotic actresses who can't walk and talk at the same time. The idiotic and imbecile producer and the director is a braindead morons. The dialogs were written by six year old going on seven whose only credit is watching animation movies and has written his first script on a slate. How did Hindi Film Industry end up with these bums?
... View MoreWouldn't quite go as far as some people giving it 9 and 10, but certainly wouldn't say it's as bad as the first Houseful - that was awful! this film had a much better star cast, and a proper story line. It does get very confusing, but the comedy throughout keeps the film going, however I feel it could have been trimmed down by 20 mins or so. Rishi Kapoor is first rate throughout the film as is Akshay Kumar. This is one of his best performances in a long time. Shreyas and Riteish are fine in their roles, but John for me doesn't suit his role. Out of the ladies, Asin does well, Jacqueline doesn't get much dialogue scope but looks gorgeous on scree, while Zarine and Shazan do a decent job in their smallish roles. Now to the dads, I've mentioned Rishi being the show stealer, Mithun is quality in his serious image, Randhir is over the top and Boman is too funny!Overall the two Sajid's have done pretty well.
... View MoreAs long as there are people who continue to like nonsense movies like Ready, Bodyguard, Wanted, Houseful, Thank you, Tees Maar Khan, & Akshay's long list of debacles, Sajid will continue making such movies and spoil the name of Bollywood in the genre of comedy. The movie is all about confusion about who the real 'Jolly' is. 15-20 minutes into the movie and you know where the plot is leading you. Some cheap dialogue's like John to ayega nahi and Jagga, Ab-Raham nahi karega, define this movie. And once and for all, Bollywood should stop mocking Hollywood, the Kill bill copy scene was quite terrible. 4 men couldn't do what Uma did with grace. John, Shreyas are wasted. Ritesh, Boman, Mithun do their usual roles.Johny Lever and Chunky Pandey are no longer humorous. And Akshay carries yet another non sensible movie with ease. Its better not to mention the actresses, except Asin who gets to say 1-2 duologue's. Songs are passable. For the lovers of Akshay's similar past works & Salman's recent works: this one's a treat, for the rest of us, lets contribute to the film NOT being a house full !
