Absolutely the worst movie.

It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.

This film does really give you a taste of the survivors who were involved with the school shooting. It probably was either the 3rd or 4th anniversary of the Columbine Shootings around the time that this film was finally shown in cinemas. I wonder why they created this film about the two girls? I mean, can they at least show the other people that were there around the time the shooting happened? I suppose they didn't want to waste time but sure it will be better then just concentrating on two people! Busy Philips was great playing as a goth but at the same time, it was heartbreaking that her character choose that look in order to show her grief and shock of coping of what has happened. It was shocking that Erika Christensen had to shave half her head because of the injuries from the gunshot wound, it really would leave you shaken looking at it even if it was just make up!It is such a really good film that will leave you to think of other people effected by this! Please watch it.....

Every now and then, a film turns up which somehow flies under the radar, but is simply brilliant. That's this film. The film deals with a difficult subject: the aftermath of a high-school shooting. We might think we have see all that, with Michael Moore's Columbine. Not so.Virtue number one of this film: it avoids everything easy. It does not propose simple solutions (gun law reform; more money for schools and universities, etc. Nor does it show us, at all, what happened in the classroom. Instead it focuses on the people and how they reacted: the policeman, the girl who was wounded but survived; the girl who was not wounded but was there throughout. And here the script shines. The dialogue, the mounting tension as we learn what happened, is extraordinary. It is not flawless. At two hours and thirteen minutes it is a half-hour too long. Perhaps this explains too the total lack of marketing that led to the film's failure to capture the audience: the studio lost interest, the director was not able to spend the extra time and money needed to tighten up the film and shorten it for release, and it got no help finding an audience.Nonetheless, this is a remarkable film. Go see it. Tell your friends. And hope the director/writer has another film in him.

If you're out of high school, and don't confuse screaming with depth, ignore this movie. It has no redeeming qualities, just 90 minutes of stupid, followed by 30 minutes of preachy, with 11 minutes of "who cares?" tacked on at the end. Indie films used to be an outlet for true artists to practice their craft without interference. This, and others of its kind, are little more than a symptom of the continued dumbing down of American culture. Thanks to digital cameras, YouTube, et al., any moron can make a movie these days. The only way to stop it, is to refuse to watch them. Don't waste your time, and please don't assume any movie dealing with school shootings has to have some sort of social or cultural value. Sometimes the topic is just a cheap path to ill-gotten indie "cred."

While i was the video store i was browsing through the one dollar rentals and came upon this little gem. I don't know what it was about it but i just had a gut instic about it and wow was i ever right. The story centers around two girls who have just survived a school shooting. One of the girls is Alicia a teenage reble who is the only witness for the full attack and another is Deanna another survivor who survived a bullet to the head by some miracle. Thrown together by fate, they slowly begin a painful and beautiful display of healing and moving on.I just hate it when amazing movies fall through the cracks. Because wow what a performance by Busy Phillips and Erkia Christensen not to mention the rest of the cast! My only complaint is that the DVD was sorely lacking in special features. Oh and some of the jump cuts in the movie were kind of jarring. But all in all a excellent movie.
