There is no honor without truth. When gang wars spin out of control in downtown Washington D.C., one man steps onto the battlefirld to hunt down a ruthless killer. A young man has been released from prison and is determined to build a new life for himself. Unfortunately, without any prospects in sight, he gets lured back into the only world he knows....crime. He gets in touch with his former best friend who has since "made it big" as a drug dealer during his time in prison. But what starts out as a partnership which promises to get them both out of the projects, soon turns rotten as money comes between the two. As loyalties are divided, anger and violence erupt... destroying anyone who gets in the way. Innocent victims get caught in the crossfire and its up to one man, Police Lieutenet Redding (Morgan Freeman) to take matters into his own hands and stop the needless deaths before it's too late.

I gave this film a 9 out of 10, because it was exactly what I expected it to be.

I was confused from the start of this film. I couldn't understand how Morgan Freeman's face and name were associated with what I was seeing. The film quality, acting, lighting, sound, and every other aspect of this movie were so bad that I started thinking of how high-quality The Blair Witch was. In fact, S.W.A.T even started looking Oscar worthy.Speaking of Oscar, I'm hoping that because of Morgan Freeman's recent Academy Award success that he'll never have to be associated with a film like this again. It was embarrassing. Of course, the moment he appears on scene he commands your attention. Sadly, it was like watching Sir Anthony Hopkins acting in an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.I respect that every director has to have a start somewhere but a movie of this caliber DOES NOT deserve an actor as talented as Freeman. It was horribly apparent that the film's budget could not afford his salary, either. He's in the film for a few minutes and his entire dialog is shorter than the ingredients on a box of salt. One has to wonder about the back story of the casting on this one. I wonder if Mr. Freeman's agent is still employed.

I pride myself on not being taken in by fancy packaging. Since I work in film and advertising, I understand that things are not always what they see. This movie made me sick. I was absolutely paralyzed by it. ALthough the remote was simply on the coffee table in front of me, I physically could not move to turn off the movie. I was that amazed. Morgan! MORGAN!! MORGAN!!! What was going through your mind, Brother. I find it hard to believe that you went into this project willingly. Or perhaps you were hoodwinked by the same people who got me to rent this debacle. Word of advice... NEVER EVER EVER put this movie on your resume. Most people will not have seen it or even heard of it. And don't ver go on Maury Povich. You know how they surprise people. Well it won't be a lover from your past which comes back to haunt you... it will be this film. Wow. I wish I had their money. I would have made a much better film. Isn't that always the way? People with it have no idea how to handle it. Oh well. DOn't rent this. It truly truly sucks!!!D

Wow. When I rented this movie, I knew that it might be bad, but I never expected a train wreck like this. It's not so much that the script was boring, but the way the movie was executed was somewhat bizarre. People's behavior (the police's in particular) just didn't make much sense. I expected a certain level of quality given that the movie included Morgan Freeman, but I was unpleasantly surprised. His character wasn't particularly interesting or important. I have a suspicion that in the original script, Lieutenant Redding was a very minor character, but when they landed Morgan Freeman the Lieutenant was given more face time, though no more relevance. If you watch the trailer, it appears that the movie is centered on him. As it turns out, the plot and outcome of the movie would be the same if his character had never existed.

This movie has an awesome plot, and a very important message behind it. The problem is, due to the most annoying and bad acting I have seen recently, this movie bombs.Even Morgan Freeman can not save this one. He is seen for maybe a total of ten minutes during the entire film. His role is to say the least, meaningless. The thing is, if you can suffer through the bad acting and the slow pace that this movie goes at. It does have an important message about what gangs, drugs, and violence lead to.I do not recommend this movie.
