Excellent, a Must See
... View MoreBest movie of this year hands down!
... View MoreWorth seeing just to witness how winsome it is.
... View MoreThis is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
... View MoreFirst of all Heath Kirchart isn't in Yeah Right! you must have been thinking of the Emerica video or some Alien Workshop video. When I see this I was truly amazed, its truly inspirational. The Keenon tribute is quite moving. When the slow-mo deck close up comes on its a beautiful way to show the simplicity of skateboarding. The skating is good. Brian Anderson has so much style, Marc Johnson- tricks done flawlessly executed to make them look so easy. Paul Rodriguez and Jereme Rogers have brilliant parts, so much talent from the young 'uns!. Rick McCrank and Mike Carroll- always inspirational but ending section could only go to one of the best street skaters in the world- Eric Koston. Pulls out all the hammers but you've got to see his last trick. The ending montage/credits was quite good, one of my favourite parts of the video. The montage in the middle was quite exceptional the build up and so-on was good, a little bit disappointed with Guy Mariano only having one trick but good so see Rick Howard skating so well. The Owen Wilson section was strange yet very entertaining (It is Eric Koston that skates not Owen Wilson)The soundtrack for Yeah Right is perfect. All the songs fit each persons style of skating. This is a brilliant video to get into skateboarding, I recommend buying it and the video lived up to its high expectations. I nearly forgot to mention the special effects showcased in the video, The first being the skateboard they keep passing to each other, that section was brilliant. the second being the 'skatetrix' which was a little ridiculous but still good as it has never been used in a skate video, The last was the invisible board section which was quite entertaining. Oh yeah and the invisible ramps popping up throughout the video.Go buy this video or see it. Its truly amazing! one of the best skate videos ever made
... View Morethis movie has brilliant camera work, great skaters, and an amazing soundtrack. It goes past the normal boundaries of skateboarding videos and finds art in the sport. The slow-motion work floored me. Its been done before in other videos, but it was so smooth here. Another really cool thing was the use of the green boards and ramps. Seeing a skater ollie over a highway for the first time was unbelievable. Its too bad that this movie was not released in theaters, it is really that good.I recommend this movie to all skateboarders and also to anyone looking for something that is fun to watch. Spike Jonze is a genius.
... View MoreSome of todays best skateboarders are in this video like Eric Koston and P-Rod. It had a really great filming job at the beginning when they filmed them at board level. Then they had some great parts like Heath's part (it sucks that he fell so far on that 50-50). Then the "magic skateboard" was really funny. The best thing is that the chocolate team is also in it. Then they deleted the boards and they weren't riding anything (watch it to understand). It' great.
... View MoreSpike Jonze comes in to direct yet another Girl video. He truly shines with his over the top skits. Almost all of the Girl riders make an appearance, except for Guy Mariano who might as well stay at home and live off of board royalties like the leech that he is. Best part is a toss up here between McCrank, Koston, Carroll, and Marc Johnson. Any one of the four could take it, but I'm leaning towards Koston/Johnson due to the level of innovation from both. A great soundtrack goes a long way towards making a video good or bad, and this video does not disappoint. Everything from Bowie, to a quick Public Enemy cameo (along with Owen Wilson). Marc Johnson takes the award for funniest skit, it ties in with his first Chocolate board graphic, and it's hilarious. This video is different from others released recently in that it's not all hammers and rails and whatnot. While there are a fair amount of rail tricks in this video, a lot of the focus is on tech tricks, something not seen much in this heyday of rail ams. This video is a breath of fresh air. On a downside, as I previously mentioned, Guy Mariano has ONE trick. One. He last appeared in a video 4 years ago, with the Chocolate tour. He had 4 years to film for this video, and get got one trick. The footage looks old too. There's absolutely no excuse for him not having a full part. Anyone who has seen his part in Mouse will see this as the biggest disappointment of the video. Among other disappointments, Rick Howard doesn't have a full part either, but has a fair amount of footage. The skits in this video surpass the skits in Mouse tenfold. They are hilarious. Once you see the no-board skit, you won't be able to stop laughing. They didn't photoshop the boards out, they green-screened them out. Hence the bucket of green boards on the back of the tape box. Also watch for tricks in the video with green/blue screened kicker ramps. Its funny the first few times, and then you sorta start wishing that they hadn't done it.Overall, I'd say this is a 9/10. It would get the extra star if Mariano had a full part, or even a few more tricks. (no Sheffey footage either, but he was in jail)
