Dreadfully Boring

The first must-see film of the year.

I had high expectations before watching the movie , and I was disappointed Pointless, no plot, no script and very bad action scenes ... It lacks some violence materiel The ending was awful

Nonstop action with decently shot car chases. Nothing you haven't seen before and that is the problem of the movie. It's been done better many times before. Everything here just feels really mediocre. The dialogue is quite terrible. Often feeling like it's from some bad video game with the characters saying random quotes that don't add anything to the story. The action is sometimes too over the top and characters behave in stupid ways. The small twist in the end doesn't save much. At least the action is quite intense, so the movie is possibly worth one watch. Also Selena Gomez isn't that horrible in it. Still this movie could have been so much better.

If the doctor ever diagnoses you with an adrenaline deficiency, try watching "Getaway" (PG-13, 1:30). This movie wastes absolutely no time giving the viewer an adrenalin rush - and keeps it coming! In the first five minutes, some guy's wife is kidnapped, a mysterious German voice on the guy's cell phone is giving commands that must be obeyed if he wants to get his wife back, and more cars crash than in any opening scene since the original "Beverly Hills Cop".Ethan Hawke is, Brent Magna, a former NASCAR driver who never quite realized his true potential, moved to Bulgaria and married a local woman. Brent is told to steal a very specific car (a Shelby) which is armored (all the better to crash with), outfitted with cameras (all the better to see Brent with) and a hands-free cell phone connection which issues him both stern directions and dire threats, like some psychotic GPS device. When a young woman (Selena Gomez) tries to carjack Brent, she ends up having to come along for the ride, and proves to be alternately an asset and a liability.The focus remains on the action, which rarely lets up. Major characters are billed simply as "The Kid" (Gomez), "The Man" and "The Voice", whom we only see in close-up shots of his mouth, eyes and hands - until the last scene of the movie. More cop cars crash than in "The Blues Brothers" – and more spectacularly than I've ever seen before in a single film. I can't count how many times my eyes just about popped out of my head or my mouth formed ohs, ahs, wows and various expletives (silently, of course, since I was in a movie theater after all).In spite of its fast pace and amazing action, this movie has its faults. Gomez's character is impossibly smart, stubborn and brave, the action borders on the preposterous, the film borrows liberally from other movies- those I've already mentioned, plus "Speed", "Die Hard" and "The Silence of the Lambs" (but that's not necessarily a bad thing) and the villain's motive is a little silly. On the other hand, the basic plot is strong, the editing is tight and tense and, most importantly, the movie is a lot of fun! Do yourself a favor (adrenaline deficiency or no) and get a hold of "Getaway", a movie that I'm rushing to give an "A-".

I heard that there is no actually CGI in any of the car crash scenes. All the crashes in the movie are real. Too bad. They gave so much effort for nothing. I'm glad that this film got a lower rating from various websites. This film deserves it. I just wasted 90 minutes of my life. I wish I could take that back and do something else instead like sleeping than watching this piece of garbage.The film has it all. From cliché action sequences and bad acting. Selena Gomez gave the worst performance in her career ever. Playing as "The Kid", she's so annoying and horrible that she deserves her Razzie nomination. And why did Ethan Hawke accept to play in this movie? He could have been chosen a better role.Overall, Getaway is a horrible film. It's a mess and a noisy action flick. I will give this film a score of 1 because there's nothing good to watch this film. It's just a completely nuisance.
