... View MoreWhat happens when zombies attack an old west style town and you mix in a dash of something a bit mythic for a twist? You get a film that Sam Raimi might have made if Evil Dead had been set in the 1800's.Short form version of the story: An old west style huckster with an... interesting... past comes to town to sell some rather special wares. There are also some unusual things happening that have the local town folk spooked. As things progress the secrets of both come out and the town faces a full on zombie attack. And that's when the fun really begins. Everything runs its enjoyable course and the ending leaves things open for a continuation that you really do not see coming, but one that should prove to be highly enjoyable. The roles of Dead Eye and Lily are fortunately well written and played as they're in most of the important parts of the film. The rest of the cast is also better than your average low budget film. The directing is pretty solid and the FX are appropriately deranged and gory. Fistful of Brains is an independent film with a limited budget, but they make the best of everything they have. Anyone who enjoys early Sam Raimi and George Romero will feel right at home here.
