The Worst Film Ever
... View MoreIt's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
... View MoreOne of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
... View MoreThis film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
... View MoreTwo brothers are tasked to kill the Dolvarnög, a fire breathing dragon that kills people who are in love. The bothers are polar opposites. Camilan (Maclain Nelson) is a hairless blond who speaks modified Middle Earth English. He is in love with an elf (Clare Niederpruem) a wedding which his parents forbid. Ramicus lacks the social graces, is hairy, has an orc (Eric Denton) sidekick, and is our voice of modern reason as he questions the ways of the Middle Earth. Camilan has a Samwise sidekick named Samton (Jake Van Wagoner). The film spoofs LOTR and well as a few scenes from "Titanic" and "Star Wars." The names of the individuals were a laugh and indeed I has howling as the film began. Unfortunately like all satires of the genre, the comedy drops off as there seems to be a need to front load all the good material. Unlike LOTR this is almost entirely filmed in front of a green screen with fake backgrounds making this look like a western or 50's film. Considering this is a spoof, that is not a bad thing. One of the better LOTR spoofs. I liked it more than overly crude "Your Highness."No swearing, sex, or nudity.
... View MoreVery low budget imitation of the general idea of "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" from the 1990s, but the special effects are worse than from the 1990s. Bad comedy with dragons and monsters. The actors are wearing cheap fake looking wigs with fake picture scenery in the background. In one scene an ugly devil looking male monster and one of the main male characters pretended to be in love like they were going to get married. At this point the stupidity became a little too much for me. Although some viewers might think it's very funny.Slightly entertaining in a bad kind of way if you're into that, but not very "good" in any real way.
... View More*VERY MINOR SPOILERS*I went into this with zero expectations. I came out needing to own my own copy, and wear it out. The writing is witty, without being crude, the actors are having a blast, and don't care who knows it. The female roles could have been a bit bigger, but I suppose as a spoof, it follows along from the movies it is poking lighthearted fun at. Others have mentioned the CGI, greenscreens and all that jazz, and while I had no problems with it, some did. I actually didn't realise the whole thing was greenscreen until I read the other reviews :)Subtle fun was had at the expense of a lot of different sword and sandal movies. I 'got' more each time I've watched it. My special favourite is the bathing scene :) That and Rammicus's battle wagon :) The bloopers were hysterical, the costumes and makeup were amazing, and whoever did the casting was spot on, especially the Orc,After seeing this the first time I IMDb'd every other movie these guys have been involved in, and got them all.
... View MoreI have been following this film for a long time. I originally found it from James Marsters Facebook page which led me to Kickstarter. It took so long for it to be completed that I had given up all hope. When I heard the premiere was happening I had no idea what to expect but thought I would go find out. I am glad I did. The movie surpassed my expectations in every way. It was funny, clever, well written and amazingly executed. Some of the CGI isn't the greatest but at the same time it was never bad enough to pull me out of the movie. The acting in this film was great. I am a big fan of James Marsters but I especially loved the lead character played by Adam Johnson. He was spot on with the comedy. Hope it does well. It sure deserves it.
