It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film

I have to admit that I have seen so many movies, I can't remember if I saw the original "Dream a Little Dream" movie before watching this sequel. If I didn't, I suspect that I was not missing much judging from this movie. Being that this was made by the CineTel movie company, it comes as no surprise that the movie looks pretty cheap and tacky. However, the production values are just a minor quibble compared to the real problems in the movie. The script is pretty awful - the story feels very long and padded out to a ridiculous extreme. Curiously, the second half of the movie pretty much eliminates Corey Haim's character altogether, though this may have been intentional considering the private problems Haim was having even back then. There are also a number of unanswered questions, like how the bad guys found out about the magic sunglasses in the first place. And while the movie seems to have been aimed at the Coreys' youth audience, there are some elements in the story (violence, sexual material) that seem inappropriate for non-adults. The movie is more of a nightmare than anything else.

While this was not the worst movie I have ever seen this one does pale to the original. First Corey Feldman's Bobby is now a suit. I guess that could happen but most of the movie seemed predominated by the conservative vs liberal debate between Bobby and Dinger's sister Rachel (Robyn Lively), a trend which we say way too much of in the '90s I also feel that Corey Haim was grossley underused. There's an unwritten law in sequels that says use your returning players as much as possible. I'm not going to argue the death of Jason Robards' character Coleman Ettinger because it would be one of the only ways to not have him appear, but I will voice my biggest gripes over the following: 1) that Coleman was actually conducting more experiments on a professional level and 2) that he was having sex with his assistant. Did the filmmakers of this one even bother to watch the original. The reason Coleman-as-Bobby endured high school life, fought Bobby's best friend and put up with countless other high school humiliations was so he could be reunited with his wife and after that he had given up on the experiment was because he just wanted to live his life with his wife. This movie did establish one thing: that Bobby, Dinger, and Rachel are from Cleveland. However this is not the worst movie I have seen and it was good to see these characters again. I had seen the original and liked it so it was almost like a reunion with old friends and I could think of worst ways to spend a Saturday afternoon.

This movie wasn't as cool as the first, but it clear up some stuff about the first one. This movie is pretty low budget and thrown together. Not much very exciting to say about it. It's just one of those movies you can sit around the house and waste time watching.

You must watch this movie. People who put it down only did so because they were disappointed it wasn't really a sequel. The first one was a drama whereas this one is a comedy. It takes place five years after the first one.Coleman has died. Feldman's character has become super neat while Haim's character is still wild. The best parts of the film are Feldman and Lively's chemistry-very funny and great acting-and the appearance of Leo Rossi and the other guy from Haim's Fast Getaway films.
