When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

Don directed by Farhan Akhtar is boring, tiresome film.It would be shameful to tell that the movie was a remake to the 70's classic Don starring Amitabh Bachchan. The new Don is not even half-entertaining as the old Don.Story:-In 2006, the drug trade is booming; trafficking between Asian and Europe is at an all time high. It is at this time that the Malaysian intelligence and Anti-Narcotic department are called upon for assistance by their Indian counterparts. There are rumors that the gang recently moved their operational headquarters. The cartel is headed by the dreaded Singhania, but what many people do not know is that the business is truly managed by his lieutenant, Don(Shahrukh Khan). A man who lives life on the edge, Don is constantly expanding the size of his empire while evading arrest or death at the hands of his enemies, both within and outside the law. He is unstoppable in his pursuit of absolute power. His chief pursuer is an Indian police officer, Desilva(Boman Irani). He is a man who has sworn to put an end to this nexus of evil and knows that in capturing Don lies the key to unlock this puzzle. And one day he succeeds. Don is captured and Desilva puts his plan into action. Unknown to even his own department, Desilva has recruited and trained a man who is a spitting image of Don. His name is Vijay(Shahrukh Khan). Vijay infiltrates the cartel and manages to give Desilva all the information he needs to bring it down. But in a bizarre twist of fate, Desilva is killed during a raid and the secret that Don is in fact Vijay, a police informer, is buried within him. The only people who realize that he is in fact an impost are the members of Don's cartel, and they want their revenge. Vijay manages to escape and is now on the lookout for the one last piece of evidence that can get him out of this mess. Helping him on the quest are two people. The first is a Roma(Priyanka Chopra), a young woman who was working in the gang, but only to avenge her brother's death. He had been mercilessly killed by Don when he had decided join the gang. The other is Jasjit(Arjun Rampal), the real father of Vijay's adopted son, Deepu. He owes Vijay for having looked after the boy while he was in prison. Wanted by the police, hunted day and night, forever on the run. The chase has begun. ( Om Puri's character Malik and Isha Koppikar's character Anita are not even worth of writing in the story because they hardly do much in the film) Don is good only for two reasons: i)Stylish cinematography,Good stunts and electrifying background score. ii)Excellent performance by Boman IraniThe direction is bad.The music is average. The performances except delivered by Boman Irani, the rest all are dull. All in all,Don is bad watch.Disappointing!

Don is literally one of my favorite movies and i could n't imagine anyone else than SRK to play the protagonist part .The movie is based on don who got caught by police thereafter some series of excited events .The main thing about this movie was Breathtaking Background score combined with action sequences and my favorite scene was don jumping from plane and battling in an air . Overall i will give it 10/10 because in my opinion this is perfect movie for any be it children ,parents etc and song sequences are also good even it is copied from original don there is always a sense of excitement and adrenaline chase in the movie .Kareena was again gorgeous and fabulous ,priyanka was okay and Isha was complete waste of time and energy by directors .now i am waiting for don 2 and hope it will be even better than first part .

Lets start with the bad points: 1) The names of the characters are copied from the original 2) Parts of the story are the same as the original 3) Two famous songs copied from the originalThe good points: 1) Shahrukh Khan's performance in a double role was outstanding 2) More twists and turns than the original 3)It keeps you engaged right to the end 4) The music is great 5) Action sequences are goodOverall a good film. A must watch for Shahrukh fans! It is the closest thing to his famous performance in a negative role in Darr since it was released almost 20 years back.Verdict: definitiy watch it - I give it 7.5/10

I was initially sceptical about Don being remade because the original Don is one of my favourite Amitabh movies and was even more sceptical when I found out that son of Javed Akthar, Farhan Akthar was going to direct it. I was however pleasantly surprised, though not quite as good as the original but considering that most remakes are terrible it was decent entertainment. There are however some quite serious flaws. One of Farhan Akthar direction, his movies are known to be slow and stately paced, for instance Dil Chata Hai. Unfortunately Farhan Akthar brought that same slow stately pace to Don, which considering Don is meant to be a fast paced action thriller can be a huge flaw. Another flaw is that the original Don had an element of surprise and since this is a remake the element of surprise disappears because I already know that the policeman(In the original played by Om Shivpuri, in the remake played by Boman Irani)will be the head of the criminals. Thankfully it is not a complete disaster, Shah Rukh Khan almost saves the movie singlehandedly. His rendition of Khaike Pan Banaraswala could have fallen flat on its face but instead is a success. Another saving grace is the twist ending, which was not in the original that had me reeling from the shock days later. As far as remakes come, you could do a whole lot worse than Don.
