The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

A couple celebrates their 30 th marriage anniversary with family and friends on a Mediterranean cruise. An indifferent couple, their unhappily married daughter and an immature son. This is the story of families all around the world. The trials and tribulations they go through and come together. The movie is excellently cast. All give a superb performance especially Shefali Shah. The screenplay is to the point and precise. The pacing of the story is great. We just have to accept the over the top moments in all Bollywood movies because that's what the people want. This movie could be edited better but still a worthy effort.

first of all, this is my first review on IMDb. . the movie is very interesting.. basically about problem of rich people in India... so many stuff in one movie... yes, its little bit long . but believe me once you start watching movie you don't want that this movie ends.. its about India, where divorce is a very big issue.. some family problems, a son should do his business. a rich girl cant marry a poor guy.. its so real.. you can feel it... just watch this.. and the way the movie start.. the story telling was very awesome.. and the cruise <3 .. all awesome and real actors.. some new faces... beautiful girls like pc and anushka.. many comedy scene.. a perfect family watch.. yes 2 kiss scene . but its OK.. i rated this movie 9/10.. because there is not a one scene that i don't liked... a 18 and i am year teen who just love watching movies.. so sorry for my spelling mistakes and my poor English.

I've never felt compelled to write a movie review before let alone one for a Hindi film but this movie was just fantastic! As a supposed ABCD this film hits close to home even though the characters are from Delhi and 1000x more dysfunctional than my own family. It calls out the realities of traditional Indian parenting when faced with their independent globalized children, the role of women in India, in business, in the home, her role to her husband and her parents and that yes, it's scary for women to walk around Delhi alone at night. The idea of perfect Indian family is one that Indians everywhere take extremely seriously and is always a facade. This movie calls it like it is and keeps it real. One of the best Bollywood films I've seen since Kuch Kuch Hota Hai!

Dil Dhadakne Do feels like a refreshing breeze and I love this one so much. I am convinced the only reason it didn't score high digits in IMDb is because the story focuses on the wealthy upper class which probably didn't cut it with the main demographics of the typical cinema-goers. But oh my goodness... How it skewers the hypocrisy and sends up all the rich people problems are fricking hilarious! And how's this for a superb move - the story is narrated by a dog, voiced by Aamir Khan!Kamal and Neelam Mehra (Anil Kapoor and Shefali Shetty) are entering their 30th year of marriage. This is an occasion that calls for a lavish celebration in their upper-class social circle. They invite close family and friends on a 10-day cruise of Europe.Once on the ship, their lives start to unfold. Jamal is heading to bankruptcy; Neelam and him can barely tolerate each other. Their business savvy daughter, Ayesha (Priyanka Chopra) is sick of her marriage and wants a divorce, and their son Kabir (Ranveer Singh), who is slated to take over the family business and hopefully save the company by marrying the only daughter of the wealthy Sood family, starts to have other ideas. He falls in love with Farah Ali (Anushka Sharma), an entertainer on board the ship and he realizes he is not cut out for business after all. Will the Mehra's sink socially? How will they be able to confront the society that is so fake and judge mental? How will they swim to shore and survive as a happy family? Did I say I love this? I love it to bits. You can hardly find movies like this in Bollywood which constantly comes out with movies story lines that draw in the main demographic- middle to lower class. We laughed ourselves silly with all the antics of the rich. To them what you wear to the breakfast table is more important than the latest terrorist attack, and having another lady carrying the exact same LV limited edition bag as you is fcuking disaster.Helmed by Zoya Akhtar who did one of my faves, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, she again nails the Gen-X and Y mindsets with a breath of fresh air. Her brother, Farhan Akhtar writes the dialogue which rings with insightful authenticity. The screenplay is just marvelous. How it juggles so many balls of moving parts is just incredible. The scenes breathe and never over-stays their welcome, and it is so effortless that we can recognize who is who in the multitude of families and friends. The only spot that didn't quite hit the spot for me is how everything was resolved in the end. It was a little too pat and convenient, but even in that it never veers away from the comedic core. This is one of the best Hindi films of 2015.
