What can i tell is that i've saw a version of this movie called Checkmate which runs 95min(much of the bad dialogue have been cut but the fights not). I've saw Deep Cover also which runs with 5 minutes longer(with very boring diologue added) and exists a third version which is caled : Check Mate Special Agent FBI which runs 97min (some of the fights&bad dialogue have been cut unfortunately for this dutch release). So i will make a review for my favorite version - Checkmate. Deep Cover starts well with some fights that allows Cynthia to enter in the action. Then continue with some dialogues until Cynthia is involved in an other climatic fight. Rothrock shows some good martial arts skills fighting brutal against the bad guys in the last 12 minutes of this film. She really looks great in this movie and she was in the top form but the director and his team were not chosen properly in my opinion. It was really awesome if the movie was like Guardian Angel with more fights&action and less dialogue.I think this is the last movie with Cynthia Rothrock which was OK the rest of her movies in which she played from 1997 until these days are really awful. Maybe White Tiger will be great because there she fights against another B movie star Don The Dragon Wilson. All in all i think that some of Cynthia Rothrock's fans will be pleased with this movie too. Checkmate deserves 6/10 Deep Cover deserves 5/10 Check Mate Special Agent FBI deserves 4/10Critic Jim McLennan wrote in 2014 about this movie: ''There's a whole subsequent subplot involving a local judge, who is in cahoots with Dutch, and using the profits of their gun-running business to fund his gubernatorial campaign. It's no more interesting than the main storyline, and every moment spent there is a moment wasted, since it could be used for better things, such as Cynthia Rothrock kicking some additional ass.'' So he probably not seen ''Checkmate'' because all the bad dialogue between him and Dutch were cut. But if it have been added more fights with Cynthia that would have been really awesome.
