I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

I gave this a chance but after the third episode I was tired of it. I realized that I didn't like or identify with any of the characters. The ones that were incredibly stupid became simply annoying. In the face of horror, much of the dialogue was off-base. They're having nonsensical chats in the middle of hell. In other words, they're not focused completely on their predicament. At least it doesn't show in their attitudes and behaviors. But what was most annoying about it was the constant arguing about everything. Arguing before the apocalypse gets started, arguing as it gets started, arguing constantly as it continues. That's unrealistic. People would be too scared to argue so much in such a predicament. Or do all British people argue constantly and cuss at each other? The British accents and slang left me at odds, also. If you like your characters cussing and yelling at each other and constantly arguing in British accents, then this is the show for you. Me, I'm to watch a movie now where the characters are not so surly and stupid.

DEAD SET is a TV horror from writer and journalist Charlie Brooker, positing a zombie outbreak at the same time a group of residents are living in the BIG BROTHER house. It sounds like a decent premise and it is, but I was slightly disappointed by the execution which is routine rather than electrifying.Brooker is well known for his satirical works so there's plenty of social commentary here about fame in the modern world, alongside swipes at BIG BROTHER itself. The zombie stuff is less impressive and rather straightforward, although it's also very gory to make up for deficiencies in the scripting. And the shouty, sweary script really is tiresome and predictable, failing to give any of the characters any kind of choice dialogue. It's a pity that the script is below par, because there are some impressive faces here: the reliable old-timer Kevin Eldon continues to do well, and Riz Ahmed's in it too. And it's hard to resist a show in which Davina McCall gets her just desserts. But in the end, other than the premise, I didn't find DEAD SET to be particularly engaging or memorable, just mean-spirited throughout.

Couple of nights ago i was trying to find a zombie TV show and came across this.Looked on IMDb,this show got 8.0 rating.I thought, OK i could give it a try, after all 8 is not bad at all.some other TV shows that i actually like had the same rating or even worse then this one.I'll start this review saying that this show does not deserve such a high rating. Not at all. What is good in this show-they portrayed well those big brother contestants.Performances are OK,plot too, could pass, although it doesn't develop much. We never get to know why does this outbreak happen-is this a virus?experiment?how is it going to end?nope.no answers there. That's what i really hated about this show.It seems to me,that this show was so pointless. From the first to the last episode we only get to see how they are all being overwhelmed by zombies. No one is being saved.Nobody survived. They all turned into zombies. And at the end of the show you get the feeling that the entire population is dead and there is nobody alive.OK but give us some answers. What is with that french voice from the radio?what did it say?i mean come on what is the purpose to make a show where we are only going to see how the last 6 people on the planet are being killed and turned into zombies?what is the point.i don't see one. I was annoyed with many more things in this show but i'll name here only couple more -ok zombies are in this flick represented like sprinters-and somehow they can't get out of the small swimming pool?no sense there.and it seems they can't really get over fence ,only there are like 20000 of them at the gates and it seems they can't knock it down? -there is a zombie outbreak of some kind and immediately everybody loses phone signal?why?maybe wires caught the virus too I could go on but no point there. This one is just bad flick. You would want to pass it,unless you like seeing pointless TV show about zombies running around and killing everybody.I don't recommend it.

As a huge Big Brother US fan (yes, it's different than BBUK) the concept here intrigued me greatly. After just finding out about it thanks to a recommendation, I gave it a go all at once. I think it could have been shorter than it was, as it's really only a really long zombie flick, but overall it was entertaining and quite hilarious. The ending is as crazy as the best zombie flick, and the characters are each identifiable from each other and you kinda grow to like all of them, even the insane ones. The lead also did a pretty good job guiding us through it all. If I had one complaint it's that I wish it had more to give with its Big Brother format/structure, so I wish it had more to do with it. But overall, well done and a joy to watch.
