Good start, but then it gets ruined

... View MoreIt is not only a funny movie, but it allows a great amount of joy for anyone who watches it.
... View MoreIt isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.
... View MoreSome producers would smell a sitcom, restricting all action to just the Big Brother set with the cast inside unaware of the zombie situation. Dead Set toys briefly with the idea, but abandons it for thrills and spills - inside and outside. If Psycho made you afraid of taking a shower, Dead Set will make you never try to operate a waterway lock again! More 28 Days Later than a chamber drama then, it delivers the goods with glee. With zombies flocking, there is a gentle poke at the Maybe This Place was Important to them Speech from Dawn of the Dead. It is a bit of a breather for writer Charlie Brooker between his more probing works regarding media and technology: The excellent news satire Brass Eye and his current Black Mirror series. It is in a bit of a hurry, but a good watch.
... View MoreI gave this a chance but after the third episode I was tired of it. I realized that I didn't like or identify with any of the characters. The ones that were incredibly stupid became simply annoying. In the face of horror, much of the dialogue was off-base. They're having nonsensical chats in the middle of hell. In other words, they're not focused completely on their predicament. At least it doesn't show in their attitudes and behaviors. But what was most annoying about it was the constant arguing about everything. Arguing before the apocalypse gets started, arguing as it gets started, arguing constantly as it continues. That's unrealistic. People would be too scared to argue so much in such a predicament. Or do all British people argue constantly and cuss at each other? The British accents and slang left me at odds, also. If you like your characters cussing and yelling at each other and constantly arguing in British accents, then this is the show for you. Me, I'm to watch a movie now where the characters are not so surly and stupid.
... View MoreDownload it from Sky on demand. It sounded really stupid, like the walking dead meets big brother, and that is exactly what it was!! I am not a a big brother fan either, But surprisingly enough it was absolutely brilliant. Im so glad I taped them because I was able to watch one straight after the other. The acting was excellent, it was well scripted and the makeup was brilliant. The best part of all, was watching the most irritating woman on TV, Devina McColl get whats been coming to her after many years of waiting for this to happen. For this alone I should give it a 10!! All we want now is for them to make a follow up with Tony Blair and I would die happy.
... View MoreIf you've watched every episode of The Walking Dead and seen all the quality zombie movies such as The Dawn of the Dead remake, Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland etc... and your wondering what's left. The answer is Dead Set.Imagine 28 Days Later the mini series and that just about sums it up. A zombie apocalypse breaks out in London in the midst of the production of the latest series of Big Brother. This premise allows for plenty of social commentary & biting satire. The BB director character Patrick is like David Brent from The Office but even more of a jerk. Hilarious. There is bitter sweet emotional drama too. The action is intense and frightening. Damn those fast zombies. They are stressful. Give me the slow American ones any day. Just kidding. Absolutely loved it! Check it out!
