Absolutely the worst movie.
... View MoreIt’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
... View MoreAlthough I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
... View MoreGreat movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
... View More"Coming Soon" tackles the topic of teenage sex in a refreshing way-- frankly, cleverly and sensitively. I admire the writer's decision to show that the magic elixir for the story was being comfortable in one's own skin-- in other teen schlock movies, the arcs end when the protagonist finally falls in love, and it always completely contrived. (Not to say that this isn't fantastic in it's own right; I mean, who didn't love the ending to "Sixteen Candles"?) In this case, the love-focused plot lines are secondary to the self-discovery/self-actualization ideas, and therefore the story itself is all the more valuable. Plus, the whole film is charming and certainly worth seeing.
... View MoreFinding time to watch movies is a luxury in my abysmal life pattern, so to sit through an accidental light hearted soirée generates a guilt complex, but I am so glad I did as 'Coming Soon' provides a few hearty chuckles. I accidentally hit on this movie while scrolling the sat channels and almost turned it off, save being attracted to the blandly beautiful Stream (Bonnie Root). One is not sure if the intention is indeed taking the Micky, as it takes a few minutes to figure out that this is indeed a comedy as it is so accurately directed to fit the darker side of the humour (English spelling) in this often brilliant script. So to initially think it is a bad 'American Pie' is not unreasonable, but this script is far superior and clever, if you give it chance and see it for what it is. Quite the opposite of the hugely enjoyable American Pie series. There are also many fabulous catch phrase potentials, had this movie been a box office major. Unfortunately, box office it is not; not even remotely, but a great view for a night in with a DVD or on the channels. Perfect casting, beauties but no idiotic glamour, spot on direction and absolutely no violence which is a God send these days. Don't knock it, 'Coming Soon' is clever.
... View Morefor the few who went to prep school in Manhattan, this movie is a disgustingly accurate portrayal. and that's all it really is. if you went to Dalton, you'll find it very amusing, as the fictional school is named "halton". oh yes my friends, thinly veiled, thinly veiled. this movie should be watched if 1)you want to remind yourself how glad you are that you're not 17 anymore, 2)you're friends don't believe your prep school stories, or 3)i guess if you went to a normal school and want to see what the snot is all about...you didn't miss anything. Maybe you did if you were filthy rich and you didn't go to prep school. Maybe then, your parents sent you to Putney and you spent your free time shoveling horse dookie out of tables and you're wondering if the day school kids had it easier. Trust me, you were better off shoveling.
... View MoreThis movie is an insult to anybody who has a brain.I saw a lot of teens movies but this one was compare to American Pie that was worse.Three girls who talk about sex for 90 minutes is bad enough but the love scenes are the worse I ever saw. They even take a Bath with their bra and panties. The girls are cute and that's about all.to think that a woman directed this movie is very sad. Please DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE.Good for the garbage only.
