Slow pace in the most part of the movie.

It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

Chris Tucker is clearly a naturally funny dude. It's obvious that he lives his humor, and that his performances are, in large, him just continuing to live that humor but in front of an audience. In this live show he gives us half a lifetime of stories, many from his apparently humble beginnings (i.e. growing up in a Black American family), and many from his post- stardom high-profile experiences (e.g. select highlights from his friendships with Michael Jackson and Bill Clinton). The variety of subjects covered in this 90 minute special was incredible and kept the show fresh and unpredictable. There is a laugh somewhere for everyone. In all, Tucker was having fun on stage and it showed. His animation, expressiveness, and flare permeated the entire set. He not only told his stories; he performed them with theater-like intensity. Watching him in his zone is an immersive experience, as you're made to feel like you're right there with him in whatever moment he's recalling.

He has put himself in good roles through the years with films like the Rush Hour franchise, Fifth Element and more recently with Silver Linings Playbook but I believe that comedian Chris Tucker is really an underused actor. He is a guy who made a name for himself in the late 90's and who appears in Hollywood films every so often. I won't say his comedic style or humor is new because it's not. It has a Eddie Murphy vibe to it and is also like comedic talent Kevin Hart. Now in 2015 and when Chris Tucker feels like "old news", it's more than an odd feeling to see that Netflix has put out a live comedy film from him called Chris Tucker Live.Produced by Tucker himself and directed by Phil Joanou, Chris Tucker gives us a pretty basic comedy show about the topics of life issues including parenting and dating, Michael Jackson and what's it's like having a religious mother in his childhood.I have never been much to sit through a comedy show movie due to a lack of interest level and my attention span is not the best when I am only watching one guy alone. This TV-movie though never drags nor do we want it to end. With a running time of an hour and half, it is perfectly set up to not run long for it's audience. It is a film that makes you want to just have more of Chris Tucker. To fully appreciate this comedy special, it really basically comes down to how much you like Chris Tucker. His jokes are simple but you find yourself laughing out loud. It is not really memorable in any way and really you wonder why this was put on Netflix or a TV-movie as it's labeled. Really though it's hard not to like Chris Tucker. He is a quality guy who seems like he comes from a good family. It's nice to listen to his inspirations and really he comes off a good role model.Chris Tucker Live is basically a comedy special made for someone like me who hasn't seen most Chris Tucker films and now will want to visit them for the first time or for his die-hard fans. It is nothing to watch again but it works perfectly as a Netflix film.

i'm a big Tucker fan, and i really wanted to like this but man, it was bad. There was some funny jokes here and there but overall it was a disaster. and the fact that it was 90 minutes long didn't help either. plus some of his bits were from Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence and others. and him dragging every f@cking joke was just really cringe-worthy. i really felt bad for him, even the crowd was bored. i think if this was a 30 minutes special it would've been way better, specially since there will be no time for him to drag and explain every goddamn joke. i was really excited and looking forward for his comeback, but this was disappointing. i only gave it 3 Stars because it's Chris Tucker, if it was someone else i would probably give it 1- 2 Stars. P.S. He confirmed that there will not be another Friday, which at first bummed me out, but after watching the whole special i was glad cause that would've destroyed his legacy. i hate to say it, but i think he lost it. hope i'm wrong tho.

I saw this on Netflix not even knowing Tucker was about to do a special and with so many comedians doing specials these days, I was somewhat sceptical about this release a) because I hadn't seen Chris Tucker in any stand-up since Def Comedy Jam and b) the amount of profanity this could potentially have. I must say I was totally blown away. The jokes were original and actually really funny. I spend most of my time listening to stand up from a vast array of comedians (Jim Gaffigan, Brian Reagan, Steve Harvey, Kevin Hart (before the glam) etc) and it takes a lot, a whole lot to get me on the floor laughing - but this special actually did. Chris' impersonations are rock solid. A few topics dragged on for a while but for the most part he held it up and profanity while present was kept to "somewhat" of a manageable minimum. I came into work today to see if anyone else had reviewed this special and was shocked at some of the professional critics comments I saw. Give him a break will you. Well done Chris - this actually tops a number of specials out there and you deserve to have your 15 minutes on this one. Not sure if its worth signing up to Netflix for if you don't already have a membership but for those like myself who have enjoyed Netflix for quite sometime, I have to say this was definitely a positive addition to the line up.
