SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?

... View Moreit is the rare 'crazy' movie that actually has something to say.
... View MoreThe plot basically rips off elements from The Devils Rejects, hatchet, Texas chainsaw. From beginning to end, clichés are blatantly present. The Australian Outback is highlighted through some good photography. I want to visit that place. In fact, the one thing good in this lousy excuse for a movie is photography, which is masterful. Some well known actors like nathan jones (troy, mad max fury road), bill moseley (2007-halloween, devils rejects), kane hodder (hatchet trilogy), tara reid (American pie). Tara was looking very ugly n too thin. The other chick Allira Jaques was more attractive. Horrible acting by all. The gore FX is top notch, often brutal. So the movie does accomplish in satisfying slasher movie fans. The bearded, red headed man looked like a poor man's Jake Gyllenhaal n Nikolaj Coaster‑Waldau. Very predictable confrontation fight scene between Kane n Nathan. We have seen this type of movie done before and far better. But despite its flaws its one of the best slasher films for fans of the genre. If you like to see people getting killed in brutal ways for about 30 minutes then go for it. The bad part- the movie is one n a half hour n nothing happens till one hour. Waiting for the director's next film- Boar, starring the psychopath from wolf creek.
... View MoreMean yes, maybe a little but this movie had potential if it had an actress that could actually move when the action is happening. From her sad ass whimpering to her heroin addict looking legs it almost made watching every scene she was in more painful then the girl under the tractor. Really when she jumped off the cattle ramp i thought she was going to break both her legs and was that shot in slow motion because it looked realllly slow to me. besides her i thought this was a decent hill billy slasher, its no wrong turn mind you, but it is enjoyable. i would have given it a solid 5 but the addition of maybe i should invest in a tread climber brings the score down to 4.
... View MoreI've seen my fair share of low budget horror movies and horror movies in general and a lot of the recent ones are really bad. But Charlie's Farm must be one of the worst I've ever seen.If i had to sum up everything that was bad about this movie, the 1000 word maximum wouldn't be enough, so I'll just keep it short. The movie is extremely boring, it takes about an hour of mindless wondering and some of the worst dialogue I've ever heard in a film before something even remotely exciting happens. The characters are so dumb and so shallow that it isn't even fun to watch anymore. Low budget slashers tend to have generic and just plain lazy character decisions, but I haven't seen it as bad as this in a while. They have no back story, no depth and are constantly doing the opposite of believable. The 'crazy bad guy' is really just the same as in every horror movie ever done and he first has to get his teddy bear back before he starts killing them and hunting them down?! What on earth was that?I could go on and on with examples of why this movie is just utter crap, but I'll spare everyone the trouble. Please don't go see this movie, you will definitely be disappointed. The only good things about this movie were the great scenery and locations and there were some pretty cool kills in it. But other then that, it's not worth the watch. Just stay away from it.
... View More'Ozploitation' films can be very good. Both 'Wolf Creek' and its sequel set a very high standard for the genre. 'Charlie's Farm' unfortunately was a complete miss. The main problem with it lies in the dialogue. Almost every line is written so poorly that it becomes incredibly distracting and overpowers anything else going on in the film. The acting is also immensely poor. Tara Reid is the only cast member that can act (and you know you're in trouble when you're saying that). The one thing this had going for it were the creative kills near the end. After an immensely poor opening scene that lacked any creativity whatsoever, I was pleasantly surprised at the way the kill scenes later on were written. That was really the only redeeming factor the film had however. The writing was poor, the direction was poor, the acting was poor and the score was exceedingly poor, often completely missing what could otherwise have been a successful scare. Not much to see here.
