It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.

I really enjoyed this movie for the first half part of it. It was such a pity that, somehow, at a certain moment, much earlier than I should, I understood who was the guilty part of those crimes. It was like predictable for me, in a certain way. In my opinion, there was a story writing defect that first wanted to keep you all as surprise but then you could have a quite clear idea on what should come further. Very good interpretation of Renee, as usual.

In Case 39,a social worker investigates the case of Lilith Sullivan and her cruel parents. When she just about saves her from being brutally murdered,she takes her in to stay with her giving motherhood a try only to discover this sweet,precious,afraid little girl is actually something far more older,horrible and not one bit afraid..a demon. Case 39 is a child horror film which some i like like Orphan,The Omen and The good son then there's some i hate like child's play,the babadook and Poltergeist remake. This film is absolutely awesome,so scary,some really good effects,not that much CGI accept for the ending scene which was OK and don't worry,i want spoil,i don't usually anyway but yeah. Case 39 is a very good,kinda creepy horror film

It looked like some kind of thriller, that's what anybody would say if they read the title correctly. The story was suspense, well developed to keep that for a very long time. Though it had no major twist, just a revelation like clarifying our doubts. Because most of the storyline seems alike 'Orphan', the film that came just months before this one. But this is a horror theme, I mean real horror, not a terror-horror like 'Orphan'. The overall story relied on one big secret that revealed at some time in the final act.I have seen many films about the child abuse, and this one set in as a same kind of theme, but takes a turn during the end of the first act. So when a social worker, Emily, finds a ten year old Lilith was abused by her own parents, she takes her away from them, followed by theirs arrest. Later, Emily adopts Lilith, but soon finds some strange events around her circle. That leads to suspect Lilith, but could not prove anything. Finding the truth becomes her first priority, but how she's going to solve it is what leads us to the conclusion part.I haven't seen Renee Zellweger in any recent films, she looked so good in this. Jodelle Ferland too was good as a little girl, the most important role in the film. But Bradley Cooper was in a small part. I think it was a decent film, but not a fresh theme, except developed differently with a new cast. If you are a big horror film fan, you might disappoint with it. Because those parts were minimised and the suspense was maximised. Yet surely most of us can easily predict many scenes, event the ending. So I conclude my review saying it is a decent watch.6.5/10

This is horror and suspense film in 2009. It depicts the social worker and a strange girl. Emily who is social worker charges of many cases that parents have problems about the children or else the opposite. She visits the family and she feels something suspect to the parents. One night, she gets a call from the girl Lily, and plunges into her house. Lily is about to be killed by her parents in the oven. She put the parents into the jail. Lily needs new parents and she wants Emily to be her mother. She decides to take care of her and they starts happy living. But as time passes, people around Emily pass away unnaturally one by one. Emily starts to suspects Lily's true character.I think the term of social welfare problem is well depicted in this film. Emily is eager about solving problems but I am sorry about her miserable situation after helping Lily. I do not believe the Devil but it scares me. If you do not believe it, you will enjoy with this film.
