Carson City Raiders Trailers

Carson City Raiders is a western film directed by Yakima Canutt in 1948. Rocky Lane (Allan Lane) wants to help Nugget Clark (Eddy Waller) save his freight line. Meanwhile, Dave Starky (Harold Goodwin) is impersonating the outlaw Fargo Jack (Steve Darrell). But why? There's a lot of confusion in Carson City in this Western about hidden identities. Who is truly behind the gang of stagecoach robbers?

Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

Allan Lane in this film is an agent for an express company worried about a rash of robberies perpetrated against Eddy Waller's freighting line. The blame is being pinned on old time outlaw Fargo Jack who had dropped out of sight. That however is a clever ruse being used by the real outlaw leader who has learned that the local sheriff is the real Fargo Jack living peacefully and quietly and most of all anonymously with his daughter. The outlaw leader has one of his henchmen dress as Fargo Jack and use some of the mannerisms that Fargo Jack was known for. It fools everyone except of course Rocky Lane.I haven't mentioned any cast members in this save Lane and Waller because the outlaw leader's occupation is an unusual one for an outlaw leader in B westerns. As for the rest of the film, a lot of good riding and shooting. Who wants more for this kind of film and an interesting story as well.
