Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

This is ultimately a movie about the very bad things that can happen when we don't address our unease, when we just try to brush it off, whether that's to fit in or to preserve our self-image.

Watched this movie on TV without hearing of it before. Very under-rated.I found the violence undramatic, realistic, brutal - a true depiction of violence and domination not just in parts of New York, but anywhere else in the world. You could quickly find yourself in an unfamiliar situation - face to face with a REAL life tough guy:- big, tall, strong-boned, and most importantly fearless.Watch Out!The scene when he must check what's in the bag is not original, but still poignant.

I only decided to see/watch this film because of Peter Greene, and I was not disappointed. For a low-budget indie, it was pretty enjoyable. The entire cast was good, and except for maybe a small scene here and there, this effort deserves some applause. It has me thinking what a shame so many big budget movies are actually far less engaging than this was. However, I will say that perhaps this type of story/script/cast are more geared toward an East coast audience. Being from NY, I think it's one of the reasons that I was able to enjoy it. We know people like this in real life so while of course the circumstances for the characters got really ugly (not seen in real life) it was like a few guys you know about the block, that this would be entirely possible.

Movie was worth watching. Enjoyed it immensely. Direct with a strong dialog and non stop action. Filming location choice was a good one as well. Movie had less of the nonsense I have seen in allot of movie over the past few years. Plot has a few nice twists but overall it is the relentless action that got my attention. I thought the acting effort fit the movie and the script. Did not have to deal with superhero unrealistic stunts taking away from a realistic action sequence. Refreshing for a change. Be curious to find out the inspiration for the story line. Seems to me that more movies should use Astoria NY as a shooting location considering its very unique areas it offers even for NYC. Looking forward to see more work from Kamal.

Brutal... I saw this film at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood a few weeks back... In all honesty, One of the coolest indie gangster films I've saw since the "Drive" premier at Cannes two years ago... It has a gritty New York feel... The story itself is something realistic, the acting is grade A which tells me the director really new what he was doing with this one! I was happy to see that you don't need all the Hollywood BS. effects and extras to have a good indie film stand strong. This film has proved to me that film making is still an art and can be done successfully without millions of dollars and Hollywood studios behind it. Los Angeles may be the capitol of film making but New York is on the rise.
