It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.

Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.

The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

Well, I'd give this a 6 out of 10, but it's a "strong" 6. Combining horror, gore, and humor is a tricky business, and what works for one person might not work for another, depending on your taste for this sort of thing. I also think that since this was an Irish/Russian/French collaboration that a lot of what might work for that set of sensibilities (stereotypes, cultural tropes, plays on language, etc.) might not work so well for an American audience, unless that American audience wasn't too set in its own ideas about what's funny).I thought some of the setups were pretty effective here, and a few of the visual jokes paid off well. The dialog had a hit-or-miss quality that reminded me of other low budget/amateur efforts that showcased some real talent that could have benefited from a dialog coach. Visually, the movie works pretty well and the plot is original enough in a 2nd rate way to have some novelty value. Some of the performances are pretty good: Dorff is on cruise control here, but he's enough of a pro to make his role work, the female lead has some nice moments and some camera appeal, and the lead thug is pretty funny in an overplayed way.On the other hand, some of the supporting cast sucks on toast...but they may have played it this way on purpose, I can't tell. Not as squirmingly funny as "Evil Dead II", not as much heart or warmth as "Shaun Of The Dead", but it works fairly well for what it is. I don't know if I'll ever care to watch "Botched" again, but I enjoyed it once, anyway.

Professional thief for hire Ritchie (a fine performance by Stephen Dorf) gets a gig to rob a priceless artifact from a penthouse in Moscow, Russia. However, Ritchie finds himself trapped on the high-rise's 13th floor with insane hostages, two vicious twin serial killers, and a pair of incompetent partners. Directed with assured flashy panache by Kit Ryan, with a constant zippy pace, juicy moments of outrageous gore, an amusing array of quirky characters, and a wickedly hilarious sense of wacky coal-black humor, this hugely original and enjoyable oddity hits the sick spot with very satisfying and often sidesplitting results. Moreover, it's acted with real zest by an enthusiastic cast: Jaime Murray as sultry no-nonsense businesswoman Anna, Geoff Bell as rough'n'tumble take-charge Alpha male soldier Boris, Bronagh Gallagher as deranged religious fanatic Sonya, Hugh O'Conor as nerdy journalist Dimitry, Jaime Foreman as the volatile and ferocious Peter, Edward Baker-Daly as a savage and monstrous psycho, Russell Smith as the wimpy Yuri, and Sean Pertwee as ruthless Russian crime kingpin Mr. Groznyi. The warped and inventive script by Raymond Friel, Eamon Friel, and Derek Boyle blends elements of dark comedy, grisly horror, and snazzy crime thriller into an extremely offbeat and entertaining whole. The glossy and agile cinematography by Bryan Loftus provides a cool stylish look. The eclectic score by Tom Green neatly alternates between spirited zaniness and shuddery ooga-booga spookiness. A pleasingly twisted treat.

Obviously, this movie isn't for everyone. However, if it works for you, you'll probably wonder why nobody else in the room is laughing, as you're falling off the chair, gasping for breath. Or maybe that's just me.Admittedly, this is a nonsensical, surreal story that doesn't even pretend to have pretensions toward coherence or believability. Whereas part of the movie takes place in Russia, all the "Russian" actors speak in hilariously bad, over-the-top parodies of Russian accents. This might be a deal-breaker for you, or it might be what pushes you to proclaim this the best movie ever made, to the disgust of everyone else.Trying to describe the plot would be pointless, as it wouldn't make any sense, and it sounds really dumb. The first half of the movie is more traditional, with real characters and a half-hearted attempt at a plot. The second half, however, is basically just a splatter comedy, and it pretty much abandons all the plot elements of the first half, in favor of absurdist humor and gore. In that sense, it's somewhat like Peter Jackson's Dead Alive. If you like black comedies, splatter comedies, or cult movies, you should check this out. Just be warned: it's a bit low budget, and if the thought of Satanic serial killers with really bad Russian accents doesn't make you giggle, you'll probably find this movie insultingly stupid.

I was at my friends place when he told me that a person he knows had recommended this movie to him and that we were to watch it. I asked him what movie it was and he told me its called Botched but knew nothing else about it,he had been told not to look up any info about the movie just watch it. So we watched it and i thought it was hilarious. My guess is when looking at the movies rating that this was not the way most people went in to this movie blind so to speak. You will first get the sense of a regular crime movie which escalates into a insane, hilarious and unpredictable film which was for me a movie that would not be easy to just forget about :D . I can imagine if i would have looked up the film online and read about it first or watched a review i would not have enjoyed it as much.I wonder why one does not view movies this way every time completely blind. But for some reason one always have to read or hear a opinion about the film before deciding to watch it.This time when i watched it blind it was one of the greatest movie experiences i ever had.
