This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

M.Rajesh has shown in his debut movie "SMS" that humor is his forte which he has reaffirmed in his second one too , "Boss (a) Baskaran" . It is a funny ride all through with no scope for boredom in between. Those who have liked "SMS" would definitely like this one too though it is not as fresh & as humorous as the former , it is good in its own way.Its been long since one has 'LOL'ed even though many movies which proclaimed to be a full length comedy came & went without whimper. It speaks a lot about the comic talent that the director M.Rajesh has for not many directors have ventured into comedy scripts on & on , that too successfully at that.Story wise there is nothing novel to expect but the presentation laced with ample doses of humor does the trick. Shanthanam high jacks the movie single handedly with his witty humorous one-liners . M.Rajesh who used Shanthanam's potential to the maximum in his previous movie too has once again done justice to the comedian's talents. And to his credit Shanthanam has taken maximum advantage of the scope provided & he acquaints himself well.Arya is good in a lighter role after loads of serious roles in the recent past. It is good to see macho Arya in such a down to earth role with lots of scope for comedy .Nayanthara is good though her scope is limited she too does well in comedy parts. Support cast includes Vijaylaksmi , Panchu Subbu , Chitra Laksmanan , Lakshmi Ramakrishnan , Rajendran & the rest provide fine support .In Yuvan Shankar Raja's music "Thathi Thaavum Paper Naan" , "Iyley Iyley" & "Yaar Antha Penthan" are delightful melodies. BGM score is average though.Sakthi Saravanan has nothing much experimentation to do but prudently show the happenings to us through his lens in a diligent manner. At 2 hours & 15 minutes , "Boss (a) Baskaran " is a crisp comedy caper & good time pass . If you like Shanthanam brand of comedy , then it is Non-contest.Bottomline : No-brainer for your lighter side ..

in this movie hero role is suitable for "Arya.." not "Jeeva.." "Jeeva" also great actor but this story suitable for "Arya". "jevaa" did "siva Manila shaky" with same director.. but my ever time favorite "bass Ankara bearskin" synonym also great comedian he acting like Tamil famous comedian "kavundamani" and other thing film director "RAJESH" he is an great humor sense director like sunder.c , but some scenes remember some other comedy films.. like "ullaththai Alioth" in one scene synonym explain about 'how to behaving or making romantic look.. it's remember that Kathi's's movie.. otherwise it's an great film. i want to explain something to all that about heroine "nayanthara" she is Malayalam language actress.. but in this case that doesn't a ugly or problem. "nayanthara" look like next door girl in this movie.. Totally It's an Great Film.

Boss Engira Bhaskaran is directed my the "Siva Manasula Sakthi "fame M. Rajesh. The director has got quite a load of talent i would say because the story is not that catchy but however the screenplay and the dialogues makes the movie more entertaining than his previous movie.Special appreciation to the director M.Rajesh's dialogues and screenplay, this movie had all the audience laughing throughout till the very end.About the performances lead actors both Arya and Nayanthra were good however its good to see Santhanam's performance improving with every movie, especially one of many one liners stole the show especially "nee en nambaan da" and all the other characters were equally impressive and did their part real good.Positives:Good screenplay and witty dialogues, Negatives:SONGS were not really necessary in this movie, both the SONG and choreography were not impressive. They were totally out of place in this movie.MY VERDICT:8/10 I would say its a good time pass movie and would recommend this movie to anyone who is looking for entertainment.

Hi! Its long time since i saw such a comedy movie. Everything seems to fall in place in this movie. Starting from the intro till the climax. Santhanam steals the show. His one liners r the main strength of the movie. Many references of thalapathy (Vijay) and thala (Ajith). N few references of our Superstar! Tamil fans can imagine how crazy the theater will go for these references... Coming back to the movie. Arya has done something different. Way diff from his nan kadavul n madrasapatinam. The new role fits him properly. Nayantara is as gorgeous as ever. She has done a role which has no vulgarity. Jokes are mostly neat with just a few jokes with double meaning. Every role has been portrayed perfectly. Music is passable. And Santhananm again! From his scene 1 till climax he forms a main part of the story. Everything about Santhanam, from his marriage till his ways of helping the hero is hilarious. Jeeva has done a very neat guest appearance. He has just returned the favor Arya done to him in sms. Jeeva's "oru quarter solen" dialogue is back! In short boss engira baskaran is a very good comedy movie. Can be enjoyed by everyone.Nanbenda!!!!
