Brilliant and touching
... View MoreIn truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
... View MoreEach character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
... View MoreA film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
... View MoreBeing made in 1988 it surely looks like it was made in the seventies. The clothes the girls are wearing are so punk stylish that you may think, it's the end of the seventies and one has Iggy And The Stooges written on her jacket. Even the way it was filmed was so exploitation that I can understand that the director Meredith Lucas had some difficulty to get a deal for her flick. It even went that far that it never was distributed properly and no money was made that at the age of 38 Meredith died caused by suicide. But it's surely a flick to see. Okay, the story was written on a beer-mat and the acting is below zero but listen to the music, no eighties music or whatsoever, straight surf and garage which adds the exploitation style towards it. Really some bad editing with sound and vision. Worse camera work everything is bad bud if was shot a few years earlier it would have become an instant classic at the drive-in. There is nudity in it but not to mention and the red stuff is available in an Andy Milligan way, you know what I mean. Some gore is added but done in a terrible way. It's just a bad acid trip going down memory lane. Exploitation galore! Only available on VHS

View MoreFour delinquent leather girls aptly named Sarah,Dorothea,Rawhide and Fleabrain are beating, torturing and killing various men. Each leather girl actually has her own theme song. The score of "Blood Orgy of the Leather Girls" is fantastic with several catchy surf-rock,garage-rock and '80s synth-rock songs by the bands like David Nudelman and the Wild Breed. The acting is obviously amateurish, but there is plenty of violence and even a bit of nasty grue. The script is an obvious feminist take on bloody and psychedelic revenge film.Several sequences are downright surreal and there is a nice amount of nudity.Accoriding to some reliable sources director Meredith Lucas accumulated a large amount of debt while filming, wasn't able to secure distribution for the film and she wasn't able to make any of that money back. She committed suicide when she was 35 year old.8 leather girls out of 10.
... View MoreI really do believe that this might be one of the greatest films of all time. It took me about 5 times of watching it to actually know what the real plot of the movie is, which I'll say that the review is only semi accurate in relating the plot. The soundtrack is truly great. I will agree that the acting and directing is not very good, but that's not the point. It's hilarious, and can also make one angry when watching it because of the insanity in the film making, but that's what makes it great. I've also had the pleasure of letting others watch it, and I'll say that probably around 30 other people agreed that it was probably the most insane movie they've ever seen. Truly brilliant, and a movie that everyone should see. Just for the roofrats and ninja roulette alone.
... View MoreOK, where to begin....First of all, this is obviously not a "good" movie, at least in the classical sense of the word. The editing, plot progression, narrative style, acting, and screenplay are all incredibly lacking. Meredith Lucas' lack of directorial experience is very clear in these areas. However, I still found the film to be very enjoyable. The cast is fantastic, the soundtrack is amazing, and the photography is much better than one would expect from such a low-budget venture. And if you watch this as a b-movie rather than a serious artistic piece, it's actually quite funny.Ultimately, this is a great example of a film that just didn't live up to its potential. It could have been enormously helped by removing a few scenes, re-editing a few existing ones, and making more dialogue to make the plot less narration-reliant. It also could have benefitted from an acting coach, although I suppose the bungled lines just add to its kitschy charm....Anyway, in spite of its many faults, this is still a very enjoyable film, provided you watch it in the right mindset.
