This Movie was my type i understand Dolph Lundgren hasn't done much in movie in action he has done a lot action in this movie but not as van damme does, i understand that's dissportant and their are some plot holes in movie witch i don't want to spoil as bad, this was a lot of action and kick ass, Storyline is a bit messy and that is mostly What drawed me away from the movie from time to time, it didn't make me to hate movie it never did, movie didn't block it's own way. Lundgren has a good role but is not in the movie enough, as Van Damme he was their, not's like their was twist where Lundgren Character turns out to be Bad Guy if that does i would have called it Universal Soldier Black Water. i understand this movie has low rating got bit dissportant from people just because movie got low rating doesn't mean reviews and people will stop you to watch this ! Anybody to watch This i actually Think you should if you are a fan of these two. Its still great fun to see your childhood heroes onscreen, a lot kickass action, and yes Van Damme and Lundgren do they do team up each another. doesn't mean it's not enjoyable as an action flick, especially if you're a fan of Van Damme or Lundgren. But it has some painful flaws that actively hurt the viewing experience and in no way does it live up to the very hype concept. It's mysterious and has a slight horror-aspect to it, kind of like Pound of Flesh with Van Damme. But it's also amusing thanks to Lundgren's character, which was obviously a role written with him in mind. And above all it gets you pumped for a good action flick with two icons. Are JCVD and Lundgren going to have to escape an under water jail? Is this going to be Death Warrant meets Under Siege meets The Expendables? i was watching this with friends i was saying nothing like Expendables you need a ensemble cast for that. but i could say it's like Escape Plan Meets Under Siege because Stallone gets kidnapped and he was sent in prison and he met Schwarzenegger character got locked up in prison, well in this it's not about them Escaping nope that's what it's about that's in it but that's not what story is involved, but movie is not about Escape Plan as in this Van Damme and Lundgren are locked in Submachine. Wheeler wakes up in Submachine which is a flashback to know how Wheeler ended up where he is they have to it's more about story that follows Scott Wheeler (Jean Claude Van Damme) is a CIA agent looking for a leak in the CIA along with his partner Melissa (Courtney B Turk) she is a villain chick actress know for Vice, Heist AKA Bus 657. by using a USB drive that needs two components to activate. Wheeler is captured and drugged by Agent Ferris (Patrick Kilpatrick) now he appears in a lot action movies in 80's and 90's like Death Warrant, Under Siege 2, Eraser, Last Man Standing, he has appeared over million action movie cameo's Ferries believes Wheeler is responsible for the deaths of his fellow CIA agents, Agent Rhodes (Al Sapienza) believes Wheeler is innocent. after all hell breaks lose you have another actress (Jasmine Waltz) as Cassie Taylor not known much in movies National Lampoon's TV: The Movie. then Rhodes is now main villain in movie he wants drive as well i am like this movie is twisting a lot of things this movie twist's a lot things, then Wheeler is teaming up with Cassie for bit then that's when (Dolph Lundgren) Marco is in all movie kicking ass in movie with Van Damme in action with Cassie witch i liked and yes and always Kris Van Damme in movie as villain, always has fight scenes each another. in all movie they killing bad guys founding main villain they were funny moments where Marco deceiving Rhodes, now rest of movie their are twist after that Melissa is now Villain in movie i wanted to see Cassie and Melissa to have fight scene together girl fight, there are cool action moments, witch i am not going to spoil. You could blame the director he hasn't made much action and another thing is there some things in movie never explained, the cast, or whoever in charge of casting, or the set. But I think we should just blame the budget. If this had been a big budget film the action scenes, the cast, Just Like with Skin Trade Dolph Lundgren and Tony Jaa and all those aspects would have been way better. The movie does have some good moments, and it's in these moments that you feel what this movie should have been. What this movie needs? 1: Re-writing of the scenes and especially the action scenes. I KNOW Van Damme and Lundgren has still got it. but i wish movie it could have been bigger budget, well well made, story needs to be fixed a lot more because their are some moments it's in movie never explained sadly i wished it could be better budget, like skin trade, more and more crazy fun action in movie their is but i wished it could be better, better director, better script writers, someone who could write better who can make plot make more sense that's what it needs to be involved but hey it's what it is how movie is made i loved movie a lot of fun it's van damme and lundgren together again, story plot twist is good but their are moments where it could got more lundgren more of longer movie, more of crazy action i wished this directed buy director from Skin Trade. ignore the reviews just because it got bad reviews and it got so much crap doesn't you expect their opinions i am not forcing you to watch movie, i am not doing that if your die hard fan of action and Van Damme and Lundgren in one movie like Universal Soldier again then their you go end of day you make choice it's not really baddest movie like Uwe Boll movies like 1.0, this movie wasn't that bad as Uwe Boll movies, i am not saying Uwe is involved i am just saying give it look you never know you might like it or not what so ever but reviews are wrong they are not right all time, because reviews is just say's different things if you watch this you will end up liking it or you love it. now i didn't love this movie just because van damme and lundgren and action, movie has a lot great twist plots, a lot of fun, it's decent fun movie, i like how Van Damme and Lundgren are team it's different style not villains like Universal soldier, but movie is enjoyable i loved it 10.10 their's not much to say or else i will spoil it or else i have to spoil it you won't need to watch it, you need to watch it, it's worth it !

Looks like Jean-Claude Van Damme's hair is going the way of Nicolas Cage's.The hair is a bad sign that this movie is not what I'm wanting from Van Damme. I see a lot of gun play, but I see no marshal arts. It's a Van Damme movie with Dolph Lundgren supporting in what looks like their version of the Stallone/Schwarzenegger lackluster Escape Plan (With a little of Steven Seagal's Under Siege for flavor). They play two men trapped on a submarine being used as a CIA maximum prison.Far be it for me to judge low budget filmmakers for trying to turn lemons into lemonade, but it looks like they spent all their money (Which was too much of their money) to put Van Damme and Lundgren on the poster (Then again, that's the only reason why I went to see it, so money well spent).I can't help but to critique that submarine though. As Van Damme and some hot chick try to out run a group of mercenary-like prison guards I look around and totally see they wrote in the lines of the sub being refurbished so it can hold prisoners to try to hide the fact that it is not a sub. I felt like I was watching a cheap 1950s b- Sci-Fi it was so bad.Other than that, Van Damme is totally phoning this in. I know he's getting old, but I know he can still do the kicks and I got none of that. Barely any tasseling. A few gun battles but noting making this movie worthy of having two legendary action heroes in it. Lundgren most likely did not even do a week of work for his check he was barely in this.

This movie was so cheesy. It was like watching a b movies from the 80s. The acting? None. The girl sucked. The old dude sucked. Van Damme sucked. The whole movie was talking and whispering. I read it cost $4 million to make. Dunno how. It grossed under $200,000 lmao. Whoever wrote this movie has to be a kid. Don't waste a dime on this crap

In appreciating and evaluating "Black Water", you need to make some nuances. If you are a fan of JCVD and Dolph Lundgren, there's no doubt you'll at least applaud the concept of this flick and appreciate what they are trying to do here. But you'll also be all the more disappointed, as the movie does not live up to it's excellent set-up. Largely because of what seems to me an overall lack of funds: the set, the writing, direction, and the vast majority of actors are sadly sub-par, bringing the movie down to something painfully average at best. That doesn't mean it's not enjoyable as an action flick, especially if you're a fan of Van Damme or Lundgren. But it has some painful flaws that actively hurt the viewing experience and in no way does it live up to the very hype concept. So, what's good and what's bad? The short opening scene is extremely pleasing and exciting. Whoever thought of the basic idea for this movie, knows what's up: this is exactly the kind of concept you want for a cool old school action movie with a few of your favourite old action stars.Sadly the second scene, which is a flashback to how Van Damme ended up where he is, is one of the worst in the entire film. It involves one of the weakest aspects of this movie: the shoot-outs. This scene was supposed to be a big action-packed shoot-out, with an emotional finale. Sadly it doesn't deliver anything: it's boring, has next to no cool action moments. It just feels ridiculous and unbelievable, and not in a good funny way. The gun-action feels uninspired and has no impact. This movie feels like a really good idea executed poorly. You could blame the director, the cast, or whoever's in charge of casting, or the set. But I think we should just blame the budget. If this had been a big budget film the action scenes, the cast, ... all those aspects would have been way better. The movie does have some good moments, and it's in these moments that you feel what this movie should have been. What this movie needs? 1: Re-writing of the scenes and especially the action scenes. I KNOW Van Damme has still got it. Why doesn't he do cool looking kicks in this film? 2: a better, more impactful villain, 3: more screen-time with Lundgren, 4: better actors for the crew and female agents.I still love the idea and attempt. I love that Van Damme still makes movies. Because of that, and because it was in the end 'okay' for the most part, I still gave it a 7/10 through nostalgic glasses. I would recommend watching it at least once, it will likely give you some enjoyment and laughs, but don't go in expecting a great revival of old-school action. For that the action itself is too lacking, not to mention the other flaws.
