Sorry, this movie sucks
... View MoreThe performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
... View MoreWhile it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
... View MoreThis is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
... View MoreIt is a completely different movie. I won't say much to bring no spoilers. But I can say that it is worthy watching it!
... View MoreI have seen the film once and I absolutely loved the plot followed by the characters/acting. I think Carlos Keyes made a great call working with great actors such as Chuck Zito, Vincent Pastore, and David Gere. Excellent job to the cast and crew members and I cannot wait for what else is in store...Joey Ambrosini
... View MoreLack Wake proves that something genuinely weird and offbeat can be constructed out of what are otherwise fairly standard parts; you've never seen a movie quite like it, even if you've seen hundreds of movies that are sort of like it.Shot as found footage (but no shaky camera) in a pseudo-documentary style story rather than having a plot unfold around a defined set of characters. The story twists and turns, evolving continuously. When you think you've discovered the main character and then they're eaten, beaten or exploded. The film is bold, brazen and makes every effort to push the envelope when it comes to non-traditional and non-linear story telling. The plot is more of a downward spiral than a typical story with multiple characters taking center stage. The umbrella term to describe this low-budget feature would be "found-footage horror," but beyond that, it's also a paranoid apocalyptic thriller, a zombie movie, a Lovecraftian "weird tale," a Roger Corman-esque exploitation flick, a Michael Crichton medical mystery - the list goes on and on, as if director took every disparate type of sci-fi/horror movie they ever thought was cool, threw them all in a Cuisinart, and hit "puree".
... View MoreI don't know why my local library stocked this, according to IMDB, hardly anybody has seen it, and I can see why. I don't how to review this total mess of a movie, so I'll just give you a few things that happen, and it is a found footage movie. First of all, the stars Eric Roberts has less than two minutes in the movie, and Tom Sizemore, has less than 3 minutes at the most. Some invading giant parasite has appeared in the Atlantic Ocean, and sends out these little parasites, that either causes peoples head to explode, or the people become zombies. The whole movie is told to us, from a lady that has viewed the tapes, and some kind of book that explains it all, but we, the audience gets no clue what it says. that's enough, the movie makes zero sense, the acting is horrible, and I have no idea where the writers ever got the idea to make this piece of crap. I would really like to know, if anybody else was silly enough to watch this. As I said, it didn't cost me anything, but anybody that borrows it from the library, is going to ask WTF. anyway, 1/5 and that one is for some of the practical effects that were not that bad. Stay way way clear of this trash....
