Beacon Hill Trailers

The late Irish hero fireman's (Lefty) charming son William M. "Billy" Dylan (25) is elected as independent, youngest Massachusettes state representative. He joins the Democrats, Congress seat Beacon Hill's legendary rooster, House speaker Charles T. "Chick" Mudoon, who trusts the customary campaign debt check will reel the rookie in as another meek party soldier. However the naive, naturally noble new boy, who doesn't hesitate to single-handedly fight off two skinhead gay-bashers, has and follows his own conscience. He defeats Muldoon's dodgy attempts to prevent a congressional committee investigating state police school cadet abuse, which would compromise his deputy, majority leader Spanky Reardon. It seems Muldoon's revenged when Dylan gets framed for the alleged violent abuse of a two-faced congressional aid. However, there's a more devious, ambitious plot behind two abuse cases and a staged corrupt payment for a memorial hospital wing.

The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.

Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.

Waste of time. Feel bad for the actors, and anyone who spent time on this movie. Its clichéd, bad fight scene, poor set up of scenes, and the dialogue is terrible. It was one of the worst movies I'd ever seen back in 2004. Some movies are so bad they're good. This movie is so bad its bad. I can't believe money was spent on it. Thankfully this appears to be the last time the director made a film. It could have been better with a re-write, a re-shoot, and a new director. I wasted a couple of hours of my life watching this, and I will never get it back. This should be used at film schools on how not to make a film. I know the director was passionate about it, but was a total pile of stink. It happens. Hopefully the people who made this film have put this behind them. Its a sad thought that so many helped to make such a piece of garbage. Save yourself the trouble, and avoid ever seeing this film.

Different than the other viewer, I will not make any comment on any political side. I think it is really wrong for one to misuse IMDb site to prolong one's political ideas. This movie is not a big production but it is absolutely not as bad as the other viewer has said. I notice that it is presented by a studio/maker call Educational Project. It seems that they want to show us some scenes of the reality of our political world. Perhaps that is the reason why some people do not like us to see it. The story is not something special or new, but it is nice enough to watch. I guess due to the limited budget it has been made more like a TV film. They even could only hire two old guys to play the gay couple than hire two handsome young one that usually most other films would have done. Anyway all the actors have at least done their job in a reasonable level. Especially Michael Landes has played his role rather good. I guess this is so far the 2nd film that he has taken a leading role. He has talent. Hope will see more his performance as leading role in the future.

I just saw this movie at a free screening. It was one of those movies that was so bad it was funny. The script was to blame. The script needed to be rewritten several more times to work out all the bad dialog out, and clichés. There were several scenes were a man dressed in a trench coat, was in the shadows making threatening phone calls to people. You really don't get much more clichéd than that. It was unintentionally funny.I felt like I was watching a 17 year old student's first attempt at making a film, but if it was a 17 year old student I'd give it a lot more credit. This was just really bad.I would make one strong suggestion to the filmmakers. Make a documentary about Beacon Hill, and Massachusetts politics. Look at why the eastern part dominates the western part of Mass, and why. Find out why we are a democratic state yet keep voting for republican governors. A documentary would have been a lot better than what I sat through.Bottom line is this movie was terrible. Though with a few friends, and a keg of beer it might be good. No, I'm sorry even booze won't help.
