Bad Boy Bubby Trailers

Bad Boy Bubby is just that: a bad boy. So bad, in fact, that his mother has kept him locked in their house for his entire thirty years, convincing him that the air outside is poisonous. After a visit from his estranged father, circumstances force Bubby into the waiting world, a place which is just as unusual to him as he is to the world.

The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.

Judging by the first half hour of this film, "Bad Boy Bubby" is a darkly comic, cruelly sardonic horror drama, but judging by the final half hour, "Bad Boy Bubby" is a beautiful romantic comedy that is, above all, about the spirit of humanity. How exactly did this happen? Well, to find out I'd recommend you seek out this masterpiece of black comedy, disturbing psychological horror, unexpected romance, and heartfelt drama as soon as is earthly possible. It's truly amazing how a filmmaking feat like this one was pulled off, this is the kind of film you'd think would never be made, but it was made...and it's so, so, so very brilliant!

This film is listed as a Comedy, Crime, Drama, and it definitely is. But know that this is definitely a comedy first and foremost, a comedy layered with a light dose of satirical social commentary. This film came out before Forrest Gump, but it definitely is comparable in many ways. Try to imagine a darker Forrest Gump on hallucinogenic steroids and you basically have Bad Boy Bubby. Just like Gump, not much of the story is told in a very believable way. In the case of both films however, neither let that get in the way of telling a good story. And in the case of this film, there is definitely some hint of substance that accompanies the fantastical madness. When I first saw the film, I couldn't help thinking that this is just what Forrest Gump would have been like if a young David Lynch had written and directed it. Mainly because there is no film more comparable to Bad Boy Bubby than Lynch's intense social commentary masterpiece, Eraserhead. This film basically is a light Eraserhead, but with a darker Forrest Gump type character as the lead. Both films stories and commentary are delivered in a similar manner. Though it would also be fair to say that Eraserhead is definitely far more complex in it's detailed metaphors and far deeper in it's overall vision and social commentary. All that said, this film is a well under the radar standout in its own right. Every adult film lover should see this film. It has a little something to say, and it also delivers a lot of laughs.7/10

When i heard about this movie and checked the story line in IMDb, I hesitated to watch this movie because of the incest and disgusting scenes. But I finally dare to watch it on a weekend and found another master piece to include in my favorite list. so I suggest you not to hesitate and miss this wonder.Definitely, this movie will make you laugh, surprise, disgusted, cry and finally satisfied for being a human being. After watching this movie, I am feeling like I have seen something special and best in my life. I don't think i need to tell you the story as it appears in IMDb already (as an outline at least).I beg you and recommend it badly to watch it. Its for your own benefit. My rating: 9/10, Bubby: Pop get Pizza for cat..! :D

It has been years since I've seen a movie this brilliant. I encourage everyone who enjoys intelligent films to give this a chance. If you can make it through the first 20 minutes, which are very hard to watch for a number of reasons, the film will reward you. It rewards you with laughter, love, beauty, redemption, acceptance, and a simple-minded joie-de-vivre not unlike Forrest Gump. I often refer to this movie as Forrest Gump meets Sling Blade, which isn't too far off base. Now, to the heart of the movie. This film bravely, deviously takes you into Bubby's horrifying world, suffering unspeakable abuse at the hands of his mother. I really don't want to spoil it for potential viewers, but Bubby is set loose on an unsuspecting world. I felt a certain amount of childish awe through the eyes of Bubby, stumbling into the world as it is, with no preconceived notions of life or society outside his dirty cage. He exists as an unfiltered man-child with a limited vocabulary and a savant's brilliance for parroting people he runs into. He strings this together into a wonderful career by complete accident. His simplicity is enviable, although certain elements of society are all too eager to take advantage of him. The jail scene nearly made me cry. You really begin to feel for Bubby's predicament and cheer for him as he makes his way in the world. One of the most ingenious techniques used in this film was its consecutive shooting schedule (it was shot mostly start to finish), which preserves momentum. Another fantastic touch was using microphones actually placed in Bubby's ears during filming. This draws you in, in a subtle way, by making you (the audience) hear what Bubby hears. Very, very clever. It took the screenwriter nearly a decade to finish this script, and it's so bold, fascinating, and original that it was a gift to the world of film upon its realization. Movies like this are extremely rare, and I cherish it, as I hope you will after giving it a chance. Me not Bubby, Me Pop now.
