Babe is a little pig who doesn't quite know his place in the world. With a bunch of odd friends, like Ferdinand the duck who thinks he is a rooster and Fly the dog he calls mum, Babe realises that he has the makings to become the greatest sheep pig of all time, and Farmer Hogget knows it. With the help of the sheep dogs, Babe learns that a pig can be anything that he wants to be.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

Saw this movie years ago with my young children; we were all blown away. Have watched it many times since when i just want to smile and enjoy a great story. I realize that I use the phrase "that'll do pig, that'll do" since then on many occasions. It has that older "Muppet Show" chapter feel, with the punch of a great Disney classic, but set as though 'this really happened". It's a must see with family, because you never have to worry about situations or language, and you can truly laugh out loud and feel good about it. I remember when the Oscar's kept listing this movie, and I/we were like "what the heck are they talking about? What is this pig movie?". Because of those nominations in so many categories by the Oscars, my then wife and I rented the movie (yes, VHS), previewed it and were like "awe, we have to watch this with the kids!". When we did, it was one of those memorable occasions you wish you could experience again; kind of like a family tradition we had of watching "It's a Wonderful Life" each Christmas season as a "feel good" mood changer. I can't imagine how this isn't a higher rated film on IMDb, but obviously a different audience. I still enjoy introducing this movie to those that haven't had the pleasure of seeing it. It does what a movie is supposed to do -- entertains.

This movie is about one little pig. He makes a lot of friends at a farm whose owner is Arthur, an old and quite farmer. Arthur lets Babe, the little pig,to participate in a sheepdog contest even though he is not a "dog." Babe mentions many problems but friendship between him and his friends and Arthur makes Babe strong. The most interesting point of this movie, in my opinion, is that friends around Babe, including Arthur, respects and loves him. I am moved when Rex, who has hated Babe at first, changes. The message of this story I thought is that prejudice of appearance should be seen as a very bad thing. Even though the first appearance is not really good, the person, the animal in this movie, might be a great one or he or she might has a wonderful skill of something. In conclusion, this movie is a story of a pig who is good at leading sheep. The most attracting thing of the movie is that Babe has a special skill and character which make him very popular. The main idea is that you should not evaluate people only by their appearance. This is a great movie which I recommend.

Babe is a film based on the children's Nobel "The Sheep-Pig" that wrote by Dick King-Smith's in 1983. Even though it's a comedy film made 20 years ago, wonderful VFX are used. Real animals and computer graphics are well matched, so we can enjoy the fantastic world without feeling strange. I think this film is about acceptance. Babe, A piglet left orphaned after his mother is slaughtered, is brought for Arthur's farm. Firstly, Border collie named Fly take care Babe instead of his mother. Dog and pig are difference species, but Fly accept Babe as her family. Also, Babe admire her and her job, sheep herding. After that, with warm, and pure heart of Baby built the trust from other animals. Sometimes, Babe shocked about what he is. However, he don't give up. Acceptance of himself, and other animals as mate work many miracles.
