... View MoreI think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
... View MoreIt’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

... View MoreIm usually not a fan of Srk's typical Raj and Rahul roles, I liked Srk when he did different roles, BAADSHAH too sees him play sort of a cartoon detective. The film is directed by ABBAS MUSTAN who gave him Baazigar This film is a remake of NICK OF TIME also having scenes lifted from RUSH HOUR. The film is too cheesy and corny at many places, but entertaining at times The film starts well with the entire gambling scene and some funny scenes, but the entire Main to Hoon Paagal song is stupid and unwarranted. There is some stupidity too in the film yet some scenes make you laugh. However things get better when Srk gets confused to be a CBI agent and the entire chaos that happens, In between again there are some stupid scenes and the end which is good though is lifted from RUSH HOURDirection by AM is decent nowhere near their good films Music is good, Abhijeet sings all songs for SRK and the songs are goodSrk fits well in the role though he does ham too often yet he is good Twinkle Khanna is decent, Deepshikha is okay, Sharat Saxena is as usual Amrish Puri is funny in his role though irritates at times Johny Lever is good fun here, Saurabh Shukla, Razzak Khan annoy, Avtar Gill is okay, Sachin Khedekhar is good, Raakhee is quite good, thankfully not playing her stereotypical maa roles, rest are okay
... View MoreWell, right now I'm upset. I felt like watching a 90's Bollywood movie today, and could not find my one of my favorites: Baadshah. Maybe I am biased because my favorite actor is in this movie, but let's face it, this is a role that was practically custom-made for him to play, and the supporting cast (Twinkle Khanna and Johnny Lever) have great chemistry with him.Baadshah is a wonderful mix of comedy and drama, and is good for lighthearted fun, although the plot becomes rather fast-paced nearing the end of the movie and some may find it hard to keep up (although I first saw this movie when I was about 10 and I had to read the subtitles, and I followed it fine, so.......) The songs are pretty good, one of my favorites being "Woh Ladki Jo Sab Se", the scene in which Raj- "Baadshah" (Shah Rukh Khan) first starts his job to con Seema (Twinkle Khanna). The movie also plastered with comedic slapstick-type scenes, strongly represented in the scenes where Baadshah upturns his house to convince Seema that he is blind. I feel these are not overdone (though they had the potential) because of the clever lines also sprinkled in between scenes.I would recommend this movie to anyone who is looking for a fun, funny Bollywood movie with great songs, good comedy, and talented actors. Now if only I could find that movie again............
... View MoreEver since I saw the trailers heralding the release of Shah Rukh Khan's new film, Baadshah, I was captivated. Great music from the title song, combined with a glimpse of the beautiful stranger, Twinkle Khanna. When the film finally released, it lived up to every expectation. Feet tapping music, with hilarious scenes, and suspenseful drama, that can be compared to the mood of Bazigar. Although the film is clichéd with the appearance of a young child, the stunning Twinkle makes up for it.Shah Rukh, as always, is on top form; his previous work has perfectly moulded him for the role Baadshah, playing both the hero and joker.Twinkle Khanna, some have criticised her as being OK for her role, yet I disagree, she's fantastic, giving an aura of mystery and glamour in every scene. The rest of the cast blend perfectly with the story, with the villains having evil and humorous characteristics. It is a family film, however, towards the end as the plot thickens the children might be confused as to what is happening.I think this film deserves 8/10, go and watch it!
