It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.

Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.

What used to be a comedy in 1958.Having seen this movie now in 2017, I notice it was a chamber play by G.B.Shaw, and it was even nominated for an Oscar. It watched it mainly due to the presence of Liselotte Pulver, a swiss beauty and well known, also able, starlet here at those times. Her comedian acting skills in the movie are decent and likable IMO. But the movie as a whole is quite a stretch, not being very entertaining in long parts, sometimes even dull. I guess it's somewhat hard to be able to appreciate the comedy character out of a 2017 view or expectation.
