An Amish Murder Trailers

The Amish farming community of Painter’s Mill, Ohio, is shattered when a series of brutal murders leaves the town with a sense of frailty and loss of innocence. Among the most affected by the tragedy was Kate Burkholder, a young girl who survived the terror and, as a result, left the Amish life behind. Fifteen years later, Kate returns to Painter’s Mill as its Chief of Police. Certain she’s come to terms with her past, Kate’s renewed life in her hometown is shattered when a murder investigation triggers deep-seated emotions from her childhood and exposes a dark secret that could destroy her.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

Not bad for a derivative work: the summary says it all. What do you get when you cross "Witness" with "Fargo" on Lifetime? I figured it out the second time I saw the culprit; so it is not really that much of a mystery. I did like her relationship to the Amish community, and I knew that the profiler would absolutely have to be overcome his phobia at the physical climax, but that's just the creaky dramaturgy. (I would really go for 2 1/2 * but that was not a choice.) It is acceptable on TV, but it is a good thing I did not have to spend multiplex prices to see it. It feels like a pilot for a series about a female ex-Amish police chief in a rural Ohio town.

Others have commented on the film telling the storyline. I will not! I'm angry because the story could have been told much better and might have been a great success.I just see the potential of the story behind it and it just did not take me away. It contained a lot of cliché's.a love story a culprit who was easy to detect by the viewer with a little bit of experience. But what most bothered me as the amateuristic scenario suddenly the main character gets fired, no build up suddenly the main character starts to get into a relation not really professional.Suddenly the side kick showed up (how did he know where she was) when she was digging.etc etcI thought professionals worked in Hollywood. this looks like good school project.I'm angry because the story could have been told much better and might have been a great success.

I saw this movie a few days after i finished reading the book. I know it's very difficult too get the atmosphere from a book on the screen. The book is from Linda Castillo and I loved it. The film is about 85 minutes and is 35 minutes too short to get the story good covered. The story and cast are OK but it did not got the atmosphere from the book right, the book is darker and the violence is crueler. The rating would be higher because of the violence. Also, just near the end, You know who is the killer and it surprises You. That is how a thriller should be,not knowing for a long time who did it. I watched the movie till the end and had a bit of a hangover. Why a summary of a book when you could make more of it and do more right to the book. That of course, happens a lot ,with books being filmed. I hope you will read the book as well after watching this movie. I think you will agree with me. When you don't know the book and just watch this movie, You still have a raeasonably time, but it could have been better.

I actually really enjoyed this movie. Neve gave a lot of depth to the character and did extremely well. Btw.. The movie title on Lifetime is called "An Amish Murder" Its a great story and reminds me of an Ashley Judd thriller or something. Neve is great in this, because she keeps me entertained when she's just sitting there thinking on screen. She doesn't have to say anything to be interesting. And this movie takes place so close to home???? At the end when he was talking about driving back to Columbus, I was like omg.. That's where I'm at. I've been down in the Amish Country quite a few times.. Lost and wondering where I was.. Horses, buggies, tons of farms. I wonder if it was filmed there. So anyways.. If you get a chance, watch this movie if you are a Neve Cambell or Lifetime movie fan. Its a good pick and has a happy end to the story, as to all lifetime movies. Makes the day better knowing that there was a happy ending.
