Adik Manja Returns Trailers

"Adik Manja Returns" is the long-awaited sequel to the successful "Adik Manja" directed by Othman Hafsham. The story still revolves around the misbehaviour of the female students in a private institution, which has now been taken over by the daughter of the previous headmaster, Pengetua Sofia (Rozita). However, Sofia is unable to control the discipline problems that plague the institution, so she resorts to seeking Azmi (Dharma Harun Al Rashid), something that her late mother advised her to do should she face those problems. Apparently, two rival dance groups known as Shuffle and Hip Hop, which are led by queen bees Bib and Su, respectively, are stirring up trouble among the other students.

It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review

It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

This is a very poor made movie. I don't know what's the filmmakers were thinking when they made this movie. This is a movie about a girl group in a private all female college. They love torturing their lecturers with their mean constructed prank. As the lecturers get enough of this and want to stop these girls from doing what they are doing, the director of this college decides to bring a male lecturer of whom she knew from her mother who's already died. All lecturers in this college are females by the way. Even from my description of this movie sounds boring isn't it? The storyline is dull and boring. The script is poor. The acting is so bad. Maybe it's because of the relatively unknown and inexperience cast but there are some well known names too like Faezah Elai, Juliana Evans and Rozita Che Wan. Not to forget the director and co-writer Dharma Harun who plays the role of Cikgu Azmi. But i don't really blame them though. Even if the best actor/actress out there can't live this bad script up. The sound effect is also very irritating. There are so many loopholes and many scene where dialog is very limited. And the worst thing is that this is a comedy film. But to be honest there were so few laughs in this movie. The main joke in this movie is the prank made by the students but it gets annoying as it is frequently used. It's either the prank is made to the teachers or the two girl-gangs play the prank on each other. And there is a dance competition towards the end of this movie and this is what frustrates me the most, and bore me to death. The dance competition run for 20 minutes and there are no dialog in it. Can you imagine? NO dialog in 20 minutes are you kidding me? And the winner is not even announced! To end this movie, the male lecturer decides to leave the college and return to the Borneo to continue his prior job and the other lecturers and the director thank him for his contribution on changing the girls from wild, mean students to respective, well-disciplined students, and also reconciling the two girl-gangs into good friends. That's the end of this movie. It's so so boring and so badly made. It's totally different from its original 1979 movie, which was regarded as the best comedy of that year. And the final say is the gross revenue, only manage to get RM114,000. Rightly so for a very poor movie. I feel bad for the moviegoers who spend money to watch this. They should have watch it on the TV like i did
