97 Aces Go Places Trailers

Eternal 25 year-old Alan Tam is a wimpy triad boss who must avenge his dad because he had a heart attack after losing at cards to a pretty cat burglar. For help, he enlists Drunk Shooter, HK’s ace gunman, who’s also an incredible souse. Problem: Christy ripped off wacky triad boss Francis Ng, so he wants her, too. Even worse, Alan just doesn't want to kill Christy because she’s too damn beautiful. Hijinks ensue.

It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

As long as you try to think of it as being purely a low budget comedy you'll be OK rather than a 'sequal' to Aces Go Places. It bears very little similarities to the older films. It tries some slapstick but fails wherever it tries to emulate the successes of the past.No Sam Hui, no Karl Maka. None of the glue that held the original films together, no chemistry between the actors and even the sexy Christy Cheung does very little in this film deserving any merit.Having said all this, it's not a terrible film. It's not good, but it's not a terrible film. Light hearted once off viewing if you happen to come across the DVD or the VCD but don't expect amazing comedy or a return to the good old days of King Kong and Baldy.
