It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

We all know what happened on 9/11: 4 airliners all bound to California were hijacked. Two of them, Flight 11 and 175, were crashed into the WTC, Flight 77 flew into the Pentagon in Washington DC and Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania after the passengers tried to get the control of the airplane back. 2 hours later, both WTC towers collapsed into a pile of rubble. In total, 2979 people died that day that changed the World forever. But this documentary allows us to live those terrible events from the NYFD firefighters more specifically Ladder 1 who were the first to be on scene and were the first witnesses of the unfolding tragedy. It is gut-wrenching to see those everyday heroes who were preparing for another usual day and where caught in a situation they would have never even imagined. To see them making jokes and enjoying life just some days before 9/11 or when they joined in to celebrate one of their own who died a week before the attacks, hoping they will never have to bury a single firefighter for a long time. Then on that terrible Tuesday Morning, when the film makers starts shooting faces of firefighters who never came back is really heartbreaking and you have to be very, very strong to not allow yourself shedding a tear. Then when you see those firefighters hugging each other, covered with white dust, all amazed to still be alive and relieved to see their brothers coming back one after another until everyone is accounted for is tear jerking. You don't get out of this experience unharmed as you see all those pictures of the fallen firefighters who died that day closing the documentary. But it is a must see. Everyone should see that documentary and realize how horrible it was.

Two brothers film different parts of the city. One is in the towers showing the firefighters and the other is in the streets showing the civilians. You can see and hear everything in this movie. You hear people falling from the building, screaming of people, the shock on everyone's faces, and the towers being crashed into and falling. This documentary follows the firefighters struggle and how everyone banded together to save lives. What was going to be a totally different documentary turned into thee best one documenting a tragic moment in history. This documentary shows what everyone went through on that fateful day.

Gédéon and Jules Naudet wanted to film a documentary about rookie New York City firefighters. What they got was the only film footage inside the World Trade Center on September 11.Having worked with James Hanlon's ladder company before, Jules went with the captain to inspect and repair a gas leak, while Gédéon stayed at the firehouse in case anything interesting happened. An airplane flying low over the City distracted Jules, and he pointed the camera up, seconds before the plane crashed into Tower One.Jules asked the captain to follow him into the Towers. The first thing he saw was two people on fire, something he refused to film. He stayed on site for the next several hours, filming reactions of the firefighters and others who were there. The brothers Naudet took great care in not making the movie too violent, grizzly, and gory. But the language from the firefighters is a little coarse, and CBS showed a lot of balls airing it uncensored. The brothers Naudet mixed footage they filmed with one-on-one interviews so the firefighters could explain their thoughts and emotions during particular moments of the crisis. Unlike a feature film of similar title, most of the money from DVD sales go to 9/11-related charities. Very well made, emotional, moving, and completely devoid of political propaganda, is the best documentary of the sort to date.

Great documentary about the lives of NY firefighters during the worst terrorist attack of all time.. That reason alone is why this should be a must see collectors item.. What shocked me was not only the attacks, but the"High Fat Diet" and physical appearance of some of these firefighters. I think a lot of Doctors would agree with me that,in the physical shape they were in, some of these firefighters would NOT of made it to the 79th floor carrying over 60 lbs of gear. Having said that i now have a greater respect for firefighters and i realize becoming a firefighter is a life altering job. The French have a history of making great documentary's and that is what this is, a Great Documentary.....
